Sadly, I agree. Sad

And I'll add the obvious fact that Hollywood caused the public to have that low opinion of science fiction, simply because the vast majority ...

It's nicely photographed by Wilkie Cooper in Eastman Color using the Super-Dynamation process, but the film also suffers in parts for the restoration. For the prints that exist on DVD now are beset by ...

I won't correct my post above unless Pow wants to change his, then I'll fix both our errors. Very Happy

This was an intriguing film with a fascinating premise. An intelligent sf movie that really twists around the old concept of aliens wanting the Earth but not via war.
I totally agree! Very Happy

And I fe ...

I am a big fan of TDTESS. One of the issues which bother me was the arbitrary way in which Gort dealt with soldiers.

When Klaatu returns to his ship in order to set up the neutralizing of the earth ...

I always found it intriguing that both Forbidden Planet & Disney's Twenty Thousand Leagues Under The Sea had 2 similar scenes which I enjoyed.

On FP we have Mobius show the crew of the star shi ...

Always admired Heston for doing SG, along with the 2 Apes films & Omega Man.

Most kept away from sf at that time.
Isn't it ironic that for many decades the situation among the Hollywood crowd ...
