The six-person crew of a derelict spaceship awakens from stasis in the farthest reaches of space. Their memories wiped clean, they have no recollection of who they are or how they got on board. The only clue to their identities is a cargo bay full of weaponry and a destination: a remote mining colony that is about to become a war zone. With no idea whose side they are on, they face a deadly decision.

Which of those is #7?

And what's with this theme of a bunch of people waking up in some strange place with no memories? It seems to be showing up in a lot of movies lately.

The lady on the far right looks like a standard issue holographic interface to me.

Similar premise to the SciFi Channel's first live action TV show Mission:Genesis.

Wish they'd resurrect M:G.

I have watched the first episode...which was okay. Whether or not I watch further ones depends on how much time I have for such things, I guess.

I am currently watching this series on Netflix. They had me hooked at the end of the first episode. Hope it makes it to season 2.

I went to Netflix to add these disc to my list, but it said they weren't available. "Unknown" is what it gives for their date of availability.

Wonder why?

It is a very dark show. And by that I mean the light levels on the sets. But then I guess that covers up a multiple of deficiencies in the set design and construction.

But I do like the show, and the other one "Killjoys". Both were renewed for a second season, providing the network didn't change it's mind. Which it has done in the past.

By a strange and wonderful coincidence, I was just about to add a reply to this thread with an update on whether or not Netflix now had Dark Matter available, which it didn't back on January 4th when I last post something here.

Imagine my surprise when I checked Netflix and discovered that —

(a) the series was now available —

(b) the discs I had put on my waiting list had already been shipped —

(c) and finally, the three Netflix envelopes which I'd brought back from my mailbox yesterday and forgotten about after laying them on my coffee table were in fact . . . Dark Matter.

I mean . . . like . . . wow . . . Shocked

I don't know why exactly, but when I watched a few episodes of Dark Matter for the first time recently, I just couldn't get into it. All that stuff about the computer telling all these amnesiacs that they're murders and thieves just didn't grab my interest.

Can anyone tell me how long I need to stick with it before deciding it isn't my cup 'a tea? I don't want give up too soon. I've done that before and later discovered that if I'd stuck with a series, I would have grown to like it.

Except of course the dumb ones that use pump shotgun sound effects in the wrong place . . . Very Happy
