_____

A mad-scientist version of "My Fair Lady". Plastic surgeon Paul Henreid ("Casablanca") loves gorgeous Lizabeth Scott, but she remains unattainable, so he creates a substitute look-alike from a female prison inmate (also played by Scott).

Director Terence Fisher doesn't quite manage to make us believe what we're seeing, but it's still an interesting film. Fisher had better success directing the Hammer horror films such as "The Curse of Frankenstein".

It's not actually a trailer, it's a three-minute promo, but a very good one, and it's made me want to see this movie.

People keep listing this amongst Hammer's horror and s-f films and I don't see it. I don't think it qualifies in either category.

Not a bad movie, though.
