This is Fu #2 before the series degenerated into cheaply done quickies that leeched off the good reputation which the first few films earned.

Christopher Lee again plays the inscrutable Chinese villain in this English horror offering with just a dash of sci-fi thrown in (a death ray which he forces a captive scientist to build).

Fu kidnaps twelve gorgeous daughters of world leaders, each girl a different nationality (according to the film's publicity, each actress was a beauty contest winner).

Fu holds the kidnapped victims in his North African temple-fortress. European audiences saw the girls topless in scenes involving Fu's villainous treatment of them. Series hero Nayland Smith and sidekick Dr. Petrie are played by Douglas Wilmer and Howard Marion-Crawford respectively.

The climax offers a small twist on the series tradition; Smith uses the deathray on Fu for a change. But, of course, nothing kills Fu for long — he's back in "The Vengeance of Fu Manchu". Directed by Don Sharp.

I wish I could find a trailer for this movie, but the closest I could come was this short clip. However, it will give you an idea of what the movie is like.
