_____

A different kind of Martian invasion story, reminiscent of "Invasion of the Body Snatchers".

After NASA lands a space probe on Mars, a scientist involved with the project returns home from a trip with his wife and kids to find their house occupied by a family of exact duplicates. Be forewarned: no happy ending here.

Produced and directed by Maurey Dexter from a screenplay by Harry Spalding (who wrote "Curse of the Fly"). Also starring William Mims, Betty Beall, and Marie Windsor.

This isn't horrible, but you'd be hard pressed to call it a sci-fi movie until near the end. For most of the film, it feels more like a supernatural or psychological horror movie.

I liked the Mars probe scene but there isn't enough sci-fi in the movie to make me happy. It reminds me of an Alfred Hitchcock TV episode (not one specific episode, but that style of storytelling).

A fun trailer for a relative dull movie, but I'm a real sucker for these things (just call me "trailer trash" Rolling Eyes ) and this one is pure catnip!

Here's another YouTube member who has created Drive-in Double Feature videos which include a vintage drive-in "welcome messages”, the trailer for the movies, and a double feature

It even has those great old “snack bar” promos during intermission!

"So, get comfortable, folks! Just sit back, relax, and enjoy the show!" Very Happy

Enjoy!
