Er... oh...
Never mind. _________________ ...or not...

What, today is Thanksgiving? Black Friday we do get over here, but Harvest Festival was a while ago...I think...
Have a happy one! |

Black Fridays would make sense among commercially-based economies. Ours just happens to fall on the day after Thanksgiving. It's also the season when a lot of conception occurs, judging by the abundance of August birthdays.
I apologize for the thread hijack. _________________ ...or not...

Another geeky pinup... presumably the ladies have discarded their goldfish bowl type helmets, since they are safely inside.
Before I shrunk the image slightly for Bud's convenience, it was actually 1024 by ...769? Close to one of the traditional screen sizes!
I think the point of Black Friday is that it is the day after Thanksgiving, with similar reasoning behind Cyber Monday, and probably Ruby Tuesday. Commercial enterprises outside the USA have just taken it up as a useful way to boost sales.

^^ That last photo looks as phony as the proverbial three-dollar bill. Why would a kitchen have an enormous electronic console complete with reel-to-reel tape deck? Why the stereo speakers? Why does the dishwasher (or is it a clothes washer?) have what looks like a loudspeaker horn on it? And what is that woman doing with record albums in the kitchen anyway?
It reminds me of this notorious fake, which purported to be a 1954 prediction by the RAND Corporation of a "home computer" 50 years in the future. It's actually a photo of a U.S. Navy submarine maneuvering room combined with a mid-1960s teletype machine, a 1950s TV set, and a guy in a gray suit.

Where did it claim it was a kitchen? I don't see any kitchen-specific appointments in the photo. _________________ ...or not...

Yeah, that's true. Still looks like a Photoshop job to me. |

It's certainly overblown for a hi-fi rig (Bud's rig notwithstanding). Furthermore, it blocks off access to that green door in the corner. _________________ ...or not...

Yes, it's apparently supposed to be a ridiculously elaborate and complicated home stereo system, and an obvious joke.
Here's a genuine retro-future kitchen babe, from the GM/Frigidaire promotional film "Design for Dreaming" (1956).

It is suppose to be a publicity image from a magazine of a recording studio.

And I don't think that's a door on the right....It looks more like a window over the sink. |
