Technicality: Air friction has very little to do with heating at high speeds. It's air compression that heats things up at speeds above sonic.

Okay, at first I thought you were nuts. Then I remembered that aren't nuts, so I thought maybe you were just wrong. After I did a little research on the subject, I found out you aren't wrong either.

So, final conclusion: you aren't nuts and you aren't wrong. You're just annoying because you told me something I should have learned decades ago.

Jeez, I hate it when that happens.

The argument boils down to "what is the resolution of the video image".
Beats me, but if the images show what actually occurred........WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE ?

Ummm . . . what difference does it make?

That's like asking what difference it makes concerning who killed Kennedy!

Knowing exactly what happened to the Columbia is the key to preventing it from happening again to future spacecraft. NASA learns from it's mistakes, so this is something we need to benefit from in spite of the tragedy.

In plainer words....REGARDLESS of the resolution of the video....IF IT ACCURATELY shows what happened....degrees of resolution are superfluous to the answer of the situation!

If it DIDN'T answer the question it WOULD make a difference.

Simple logic my friend!
