I continue to be impressed by Mr. Jimbo Berkey's wonderful site, Free Classic Movies — not only because of the movies he offers in a well-organized, user friendly site, but also because he provides beautifully written reviews of the films, complete with pictures from the movies themselves.

With that in mind, here's his review for It Happened Tomorrow , along with the pictures he includes and the link to watch it or download it!

Even those this isn't a time travel movie, it does address the consequences of changing the past, because of how such changes affect the present and the future. It's a fantasy/comedy that deals intelligently with a science fiction concept that combines elements of It's a Wonderful Life and Back to the Future.

I highly recommend this movie. Here's Jimbo's review. Very Happy

The Man with a Nose for News, . . . Writes His Death Notice

Old Pop Benson has been working at the newspaper office for many years. He has watched the daily news being printed one day after the other, and he believes that there is no future, and no past. He believes that time is one thing only, and tomorrow is as transparent to him as yesterday was.

Tomorrow is just a dark illusion for people who don’t understand the flow of time.

Young cub reporter Larry Stevens, played by Dick Powell, challenges Pop to let him see just a glimpse of tomorrow. If young Larry can see a glimpse of tomorrow, he will be able to create his perfect life, with his perfect wife, and his perfect finances.

His life would be a guaranteed success if only he could get a glimpse of tomorrow.

Larry is so excited that he swears to old man Benson that he would trade ten years of his life for just a glimpse of tomorrow. The old man’s eyes gleam with understanding, and he comments that young Larry may not have ten years of life to trade.

This leads to that, and suddenly Larry can see tomorrow. He knows what will happen, and he knows the exact minute that it will happen. Larry can now become the most famous and wealthiest man alive, because of his powers of seeing tomorrow.

Unfortunately, Larry’s final glimpse into the future is his own death, happening before the day is done. The more determined he is to avoid that moment, the more determined the Universe is to bring him to that very moment and place in time.

Escaping the future seems to be impossible, for better or for worse.

Pop a big bowl of white kernel popcorn with plenty of warm melted butter drizzled over it and enjoy the show! Very Happy

IHT appears to be the inspiration for the 1996~2000 TV series "Early Edition."

In that show Gary Hobson( Kyle Chandler) receives a daily Chicago newspaper one day early. After finally figuring out it's the real deal,Gary attempts to right any wrongs he reads in the paper before they happen the following day.

The show had 90 episodes and was filmed on location in Chicago.
