Hot damn, the trailer is a great little "mini-making of . . . ", so I gave your post a free "upgrade" to encourage everybody to watch it. Very Happy

The only problem is that Aquaman actually looks like this, not a rather annoyed professional wrestler:

IMDB has 78 trivia items for this movie. Here’s a few of the ones I found the most interesting, in the blue text. Very Happy
________________________________

~ Nicole Kidman immediately accepted the role of Atlanna when director James Wan said that she could wear "Mother-of-Pearl and be a Mermaid Warrior."

Note from me: Obviously Miss Kidman was right to think that the role would give her a chance to look absolutely awesome! Wink

~ According to Amber Heard, the underwater scenes required cast members to be hosed down, and then shooting took place on a cold soundstage.

Note from me: Ummm . . . what? How does being wet and cold — instead of actually underwater — make the actors look like they’re underwater? Shocked

~ Jason Momoa admitted to playing pranks on all of his fellow cast members during filming except for Nicole Kidman.

Note from me: I suspect Miss Kidman showed Jason the five-pointed weapon she carried around, and then told him to imagine what it would look like sticking out of his ass. Rolling Eyes

~ Director James Wan cited the sea monster film Creature from the Black Lagoon (1954) as an influence on the portrayal of the Trench monsters for this movie.

Note from me: Interesting. I haven’t seen the movie yet, so I’ll be interested to see what the Trench monsters look like. (I wonder what Tom Weaver would say to the person who called his favorite movie “the sea monster film”. Laughing)

_____________

~ In the movie, tridents are used only by those of royal blood from Atlantis: King Atlan, Atlanna, Orm, Arthur, and King Ricou. The trident is the specific weapon of the Greek sea god Poseidon.

Note from me: Aquaman does indeed carry a “trident” (a three-pronged weapon) in some of the promotional material, but he and Atlanna’s weapons have five prongs in other images I’ve seen. I can’t find a name for a five-pronged spear.

~ Arthur rides a giant seahorse briefly in the final battle. This came from the opening credits of Aquaman (1967).

Note from me: I couldn’t find a picture of Aquaman riding on a seahorse, but this picture demonstrates the appealing design of the “aquatic equestrian sea steeds”. Very Happy

Even though I put this picture I made for Aquaman Meets Captain Nemo in the 20,000 League Under the Sea thread, I couldn't resist putting it here, too.

It turned out rather well, I think. Very Happy
