Thinking Like a Writer!
After watching CNN for hours today and enjoying the happy news that Nancy Pelosi had spanked our arrogant president so soundly that he finally stumbled out of the Oval Office and gave pathetic concession speech in the Rose Garden in which he gave in to the Democrats completely.
___________ DEAL REACHED, SHUTDOWN ENDS
The Dems got everything they wanted. Trump got dick.
And yet this remarkable defeat wasn't acknowledge by Trump with a mature and admirable admission. Here's what he said instead.
Trump actually thinks he can start over and dicker with the same people who've already whupped him unmerciful, and if he doesn't get what he wants, he'll just shut down the government again!
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.
~ Albert Einstein
Today I started out with an interesting story about the dawn raid on Robert Stone's home and his court appearance, followed by his bold street-side address to a mob which repeatedly shouted "Lock him him, lock him up!"
But that story was soon eclipsed by the remarkable news that Trump had been thoroughly defeated by Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer, and he was going to reopened the government without even getting the "one dollar" which Nancy said jokingly said she might authorize for his wall — a wall which, by the way, can't even be built along lengthy stretches of the border simply because the terrain makes it impossible!
Okay, so here's my point.
After watching Trump's remarkable demonstration of his complete lack of maturity — along with the CNN stories about the six Trump associates who were now being indited for serious crimes — I suddenly had this epiphany!
What if Trump wasn't really the brains of this outfit?
Instead of being the real "boss" of all the men who now face jail time, what if Trump is so easily manipulated by people like the ones he's foolishly trusted (Cohen, Manifort, Flynn, Pinedo, Papadopoulos, Gates, and Sean Hannity along with several others at FOX News), that Trump is really just the gullible puppet of all the people who supported his bid for the presidency!
These unscrupulous people just wanted to be the "power behind the throne" and use Trump to further their own agendas, while Trump's presidential powers allowed them to line their pockets for the next four years.
They all know he's just a very easily influenced man who's ego rules his intellect. But he's so easily controlled that these other men hoped to steer him into the White House and enrich their own fortunes. And they believed that it the plan didn't work, he'd take the blame for the mistakes he made, while they would get away with little damage.
What they didn't count on was the intelligence and skill of Robert Mueller. He swooped in unexpectedly and started unraveling this nefarious plot — but he isn't doing it the way we thought he was.
Robert Mueller hasn't focused his efforts on just finding out what evidence he can get on Trump to prove he colluded with the Russians. Trump is too powerful to attack head on. So, Mueller has carefully removed Trump's crocked cronies, the ones who wanted to use the presidency for their own unscrupulous plans.
What we're witnessing is the dismantling of the team that put Trump into the White House and who have surrounded him with a wall of loyal stooges. Unlike the president, these men don't have the kind of protection which makes it so difficult to go after the most powerful man in the world.
And with the removal of Donald Trump's "protectors", the president becomes more and more exposed. Each of the former protectors of the man whose coattails they hoped to ride are being converted into traitors as they desperately try to stay out of jail for their crimes.
Mueller is turning Trump's allies into Trump's enemies . . . and in the process he's turning them in Mueller's allies!
Robert Mueller is moving slowly towards the day when all the evidence he's collected from his investigation — including the testimony of Trump's "turncoat" team — will make his case strong enough to do what has never been done before, something this country desperately needs . . . the removal of a president so incompetent, so illogical, so harmful to the nation that we can't afford to let him stay in the Oval Office until 2020.
This man gets more impossible to tolerate every day. He's an embarrassment to the nation, he's a blemish on the reputation of our country in the eyes of the world, and he's totally unconcerned about the harm he's doing to the American people.
He wasn't willing to end the shutdown that caused harm to 800,000 government employees until he was told that if it continued any longer, passenger planes might start crashing when air traffic controls could no longer keep the skies safe.
How could any sane man show so little concern for the consequences of his actions?
Is there no man on Earth who has the wisdom and innocence of a child?
