When I was about eight years old I remember coming to the shocking realization that Batman . . . couldn't fly! In fact, he didn't have ANY superpowers at all!

I was crushed. Why wear a cape when you can't fly . . . especially a cape that looks like bat wings?

But the cover of that comic book above reminded me that the inappropriately Caped Crusader often swings on a rope, and it occurred to me that it would be cool to see Batman swinging between buildings somewhat like Spider-Man does. Not quite continuously, of course — more like the way Dare Devil uses his versatile "night sticks with a cord" thingy!

Yes, I know — Batman has been swinging from roof tops for decades, but I don't remember any movie scenes where he really goes all-out on a trapeze act which is presented like it's done in the Spider-Man movies: a rapid succession of swings, punctuated by Batman sprinting across a rooftop and then leaping out for another series of swings!

~ Click on the image to hear rousing music while you read the rest of my idea. Very Happy.

And imagine a scene like that in which the camera periodically views the street far below the Dark Knight . . . and we see the headlights of the Batmobile racing along on autopilot, keeping up with Batman as it tracks his locator signal, making sure it will be there for him when he decides to come down!

Batman would be incredibly versatile and mobile, moving through the city in all directions by using different methods. Cool

Picture Batman suddenly crashing through a 10th story window and ambushing a crime lord smack in the middle of a meeting with his henchman! He grabs this wanted criminal, jumps back out the broken window, drops down to the street using his motorized, forearm-mounted "line shooter", and lands right next to the Batmobile as it comes to a screeching halt at the curb.

The door opens and Batman throws the crime lord into the vehicle. As he slams the door, he speaks to the Batmobile.

"Take this gentleman to the 53rd precinct. They know he's coming."

The Batmobile races off while Batman shoots a line straight up and then zooms out of sight.

(Man, I should be working in Hollywood!) Shocked
