____________

A made-in-Japan movie with American stars, released theatrically in other countries but sold directly to American TV. This is like a movie produced by the United Nations! Shocked

Gravel-voiced, super-macho Richard Boone plays Masten Thrust (how's that for a phallic name?), the richest man in the world, who takes a small crew of scientist to a "lost world" inhabited by dinosaurs, a freak temperate zone near the North Pole (ala "The Land Unknown" — only in the hemisphere that has no land near the pole, just floating ice. Oops).

To get to this exotic local, Boone uses his "Thrust Polar Borer" (how's that for a phallic machine?), an idea perhaps borrowed from Burroughs "At the Earth's Core". (Okay, who am I kidding? Of course it's borrowed from Burroughs! Duh . . . )

And if you think the name of the character and his ego-boosting machine aren't phallic symbols, just study the poster above a bit more closely. Tell me the artist didn't laugh himself sick when he got away with positioning the "Thrust Polar Borer" right there in relation to that big old T Rex! Shocked

Oooh yeah . . . Wink

Predictably the Tyrannosaurus Rex they find is (A) a man in suit, (B) four times bigger than it should be, and (C) not too well designed.

Most of Boone's dialogue is laughable at best, a lot of macho-type stuff like, "I'm gonna kill that monster if it's the last thing I do!".

But the wilderness locations are well chosen, the dinosaurs are nicely matted into shots with the actors, and there are special effects aplenty. Co-starring Joan Van Ark, Steven Keats, Luther Rackley, and Tatsu Nakamura. Directed by Alex Grasshoff and Tom Kotani.

Okay, I have GOT to see this movie! Cool

Watch this clip from the film, in which the T-Rex somehow carries the Thrust Polar Borer in his tiny arms to a massive dinosaur "bone yard" and tosses it to the ground. Then he starts biting the side of a cliff next to the machine to make rubble fall down and cover it up.

You know, like a dog burying a bone?

Suddenly (gasp!) a triceratops burst from the loosened dirt inside the cliff (a mole-ceratops?) and attacks the T-Rex!

Like I said, I have GOT to see this movie! Very Happy

It took some searching, but I found the movie on ClassicMoviesz.com , which has thousands of movies, listed by genre. They list well over a hundred sci-fi movies at the link above!

Both the Norton and Trend "Is this site safe?" websites gave the ClassicMoviesz.com a green check mark and a safe rating. Very Happy

Unfortunately I could find absolutely no way to download it, so I'll have to watch directly from the website.

Consider the moto on the shirt.

Isn't that the direction of the Jurassic Park movies?
