The Dragon capsule's clean, uncluttered cabin and touchscreen controls are more than a bit reminiscent of the spacecraft interiors from 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Does anyone remember the DC-X and the DC-Y, Macdonald — Douglas' Delta Clipper from the mid 1990s?

Yes, I attended one of the early test flights of the DC-X at White Sands Missile Range. The "Delta Clipper", as it was known, is the direct ancestor of today's SpaceX and Blue Origin ships.

There is a good 10-minute Youtube video (take note of the narrator's shirt) about the lineage of these vertical-landing rockets at https://youtu.be/39cjZTCay24 . Sadly, its footage of the White Sands DC-X launch, starting at 4:33, is only marginally better than my own VHS recording of the same 1993 event.

Look, a summer shirt for us sci-fi fans: the space shirt instead of the Hawaiian shirt!

I can't seem to find out when the Dragon crew will come back home after their mission to the ISS, but here's a video of the first unmanned test flight, and it is inspirational!
