Summary of events depicted in the third set of images on page 12.
________________________________

The Enterprise presses it’s attack on the Gal Garth’ Thong (the Romulan Bird of Prey), damaging it severely.

Aboard the Abaddon, Captain Tatenen and Mr. Watson discuss the fact that they both saw the ghostly figured which appeared briefly and deliver a strange message, “Nothing will save you now”. The captain realizes that the word “nothing” was referring to the Abaddon’s amazing ability to modify its own mass — and what Tatenen needs to do reduce the ships mass to zero!

Tatenen says that this means the Abaddon might experience the strange fate of the Goliath did when it vanished without a trace.

Watson shuts down the ship’s shields and causes the ship's mass to be completely nullified.

Meanwhile, on board the Chu’Tul (the Klingon transport), the two female Klingons discuss the noble sacrifice made by Capt. Tatenen which prevented the destruction of their ship and all the colonist.

At that moment, the Romulan Bird of Prey is under heavy fire from the Enterprise. During the barrage the Commander is informed that a previous transmission from the scout ship secretly modified the Bird of Prey’s cloak settings, causing it to leave a tell-tale trail of tetryons which are being detected by the Enterprise.

The Commander is furious and orders his subordinate to fix the problem immediately.

Kirk and Spock discuss the fact that the Abaddon is still enveloped in the super-heated plasma cloud and can’t survive much longer. Then they realize that the Abaddon is actually fading from view as its Higgs field generator negates its mass.

Scotty reports that the gravity well poses a danger if they get too close, and it’s preventing the ship from creating a stable warp bubble. But Scotty promises to beef up the tractor beam, at the cost of diminishing their shield strength.

Sulu reports that he is no longer able to track the Bird of Prey! (The Romlans fixed their tetryon emissions problem.

Spock reports that the Bird of Prey will be able to fire its plasma weapon again in nine minutes, and the Klingon transport will be out of fuel is only one minute. They're doomed if they can’t be towed out of the gravity well.

Kirk tells Uhura to alert Commander Krug aboard the Korinar that he’ll need to be ready to deal with another nuclear missile from the Bird of Prey.

The Romulan Commander orders his subordinate to prepare another torpedo and to move the ship to within on million kilometers of the Klingon transport. But the Commander is told that the warp drive is off line, and the ship will not be able to escape from the gravity well.

Mr. Watson counts down the last three seconds until the Abaddon reaches zero mass and passes into some state of existence about which nothing in known!

At that moment, McGivers awakens inside her stasis chamber.

_____________

The Enterprise passes near the point where the Abaddon vanished, and a beam of light lances out from the plasma cloud.

On the main view screen is an image which Spock theorizes is a “white hole” — a phenomenon never actually observed before.

Aboard the Korinar, Commander Krug observes the dwindle plasma cloud and the gap at its center, caused by the Abaddon’s strange disappearance and the shock wave it created.

Krug is so moved by the heroic sacrifice of Captain Tatenen that he delivers and impromptu eulogy in this honor.

Spock informs Captain Kirk that they received a transmission from the Abaddon, advising them to polarize their hull and make use of the asteroid’s powerful magnetic field to counteract the titanic force of gravity. By manipulating the north and south magnetic poles of the Enterprise’s own magnetic field, they’ll be able to maneuver in and out of the gravity well without relying solely on the overworked engines.

Kirk tells Spock to send this information to Krug aboard the Korinar. Krug is preparing his ship to battle the Romulan Bird of Prey.

Spock uses a schematic on the view screen to explain their strategy concerning the use of the magnetic field from the asteroid to counter the pull of the gravity well.

Spock advises caution concern the fact that the gravity well hasn’t stabilized yet, and the Lagrange point will shift positions until it does. Scotty informs Kirk that they are in position to begin using the tractor beam to pull the Klingon transport out of the gravity well.

Kirks issues strict orders to the crew: Chekov plots a course to the Lagrange point, Sulu stands ready to begin towing the Klingon transport to safety, Uhura tells the Klingons to go to warp the moment they are clear of the gravity well, and Scotty activates the tractor beam.

Spock reports that the Klingon transport will reach the Lagrange point in three minutes. McCoy informs Kirk that he has inoculated the against the effects of the high gamma radiation caused by the gravity well.

Spock says that the Romulans will fire their weapon again in 7 minutes. But McCoy says they can’t stay in this area more than 5 minutes or they’ll all be dead.

The Lexington is approaching the Neutral Zone as it pursues the strange drone which is bearing down on the Romulan home world to destroy it! But suddenly the drone comes to a dead stop in space, and Commodore Wesley orders his helmsman to do likewise. A photon torpedo is read to be launched against the drone, and Wesley gives the order.

On the bridge of the Lexington, the helmsman reports the torpedo scored a directed hit. But Wesley is worried, because he just fired his last torpedo, and his orders from Starfleet are to stay out of the Neutral Zone and warn the Romulans.

The sentient drone hails the Lexington and has a “friendly chat” with Commander Wesley, informing him it will destroy the “Romulan threat” very soon. Commodore Wesley realizes the drone is being controlled by an M-5 computer!

Aboard the Romulan Bird of Prey, the dedicated by overly obsessed commander is putting this ship and his crew into mortal danger to complete his mission to collapse the asteroid into a black hole. Most of his recent battle damage caused by the Enterprise has been repaired.

The powerful plasma weapon is charging and can fired again in just seven minutes! The Enterprise is currently towing the Klingon transport to the Lagrange point, and it will go to warp when it reaches that position.

In a bold and desperate attempt to prevent the escape of the Klingon transport, the Commander orders the launch of a nuclear missile at the Lagrange point itself!

________________

Aboard the Lexington, Commodore Wesley is contacted by the sentient drone, which explains what it plans to do. The drone states that the Romulans have destroyed the Abaddon, and as a result the drone intends to destroy the Romulan threat to the Federation.

After delivering this chilling message, the drone accelerates, passing the Lexingon and heading into Romulan space.

The recent message from the Enterprise revealed that the Romulans intend to collapse the asteroid into a black hole, but there first attempt was thwarted by the Abaddon.

However, the Romulans will not give up. And for that reason, Commodore Wesley orders his comm officer to open a channel to the planet Romulus so he can warn them of the threat!

Summary of events depicted in the first set of images here on page 13.
________________________________

Spock informs Kirk that the Klingon colony ship, Chul'Tu, has reached the Larange point and can finally escape from the gravity well.

Uhura calls out that they are being hailed by the rescued Chul'Tu.

Spock tells Kirk he has a theory about the vanished Abaddon, but he notices how exhausted Kirk is, so he refrains from going into detail about his theory until later.

The female Klingons in command on the transport vessel contact the Enterprise to thank Kirk and his colleagues on the Abaddon for saving the Klingons on board, whose blood contains antibodies which will cure the Klingon plague.

Kirk expresses his appreciation for the Klingon female's kind words, and he wishes her a safe journey.

Spock then estimates that the rescued Klingon colony ship, the Chu’Tul, will go to warp in ten seconds.

But suddenly Chekov shouts a warning! The Romulan ship has fired a missile that will destroy the Klingon transport in just five seconds — and the Enterprise is too distant to destroy it.

However, the Chu’Tul suddenly fires it’s disruptor cannon at the missiles . . . despite the fact that the missile will be detonated dangerously close! Shocked

Kirk orders the aft shields to maximum just as the Chul’Tul’s disruptor cannon detonates the missiles a mere 100 kilometers from its position.

Prior to this cataclysmic event, the Abbadon transits to a place outside our universe when it passes thru the rift created by the Romulan plasma torpedo.

Moments after this unexpected event, the Abaddon is hailed. When Watson activates the view screen, both he and Tatenen are startled by the image of two elderly men, one of whom introduces himself as Ayelborne.

Tatenen orders his android first officer to consult his own extensive databanks — along with all the info from the ship’s sensors — to explain what’s happening. Watson complies and then informs the captain that these two “men” are in fact non-corporeal beings in a parallel univers which is composed of pure energy!

Ayelborne explains that he and his race were distressed by the conflict between the Federation and the Klingons when the Enterprise visited Organia and were attacked by the Klingons. Since that time, these non-corporeal beings have learned that the Klingons cannot be trusted to honor any peace treaties with their enemies. Sad

But these wise and ancient "energy beings" also explain that they have endeavored to find some way to create a lasting peace between the Klingon Empire and the Federation.

Tatenen is puzzled when Ayelborne suddenly asks about the condition of the shape-shifter known as Yemon McGivers, a being who has been in a stasis chamber to stabilize her condition after contracting a virus which threatened her life.

However, Ayelborne explains that his fellow energy beings simply created the appearance of her infection, and therefore McGiver is actually in no danger.

Moments later, Watson informs the captain that McGivers is now out of the stasis chamber, and she's on her way to the bridge.

Sometime earlier (in the "normal universe") the USS Lexington is positioned at the every edge of the Neutral Zone. Commodore Wesley receives a communication from the Romulan High Command, asking about the probe they are tracking in their region of space.

Commodore Wesley is informed by his navigator that the drone has suddenly accelerated passed warp 10, and seven Romulan warships are attempting to converge on the probe’s position.

However, Commodore Wesley elects to cautiously wait and see what happens next before volunteering information about the mysterious drone.

On the bridge of the Lexington, Commodore Wesley receives a detailed report provided by the ship's sensors and his navigator concerning the Romulan’s efforts to stop the powerful drone — none of which have succeeded. Wesley's navigator informs him that the drone actually appears to now be targeting one of the moons of Romulus, rather than the home world itself!

Another message from the Romulan High Command is received, now declaring that the probe constitutes an attack on their world — which the Romulans consider an act of war!

Commodore Wesley makes no reply.

Aboard the Abaddon, Tatenen is told by Ayelborne that he and his race have been in contact with McGivers since the first day she was created, ten years ago!

Throughout that time she has been their “conduit” into our own universe. But after the incident on Organia with Kirk and Spock they have not been able to cross over into our universe. Their "creator" was displease with them for interfering with our affairs! Sad

During this period of punishment they've lost contact with McGiver. However, contact was recently restored after she was placed inside the stasis chamber.

Meanwhile, aboard the Klingon ship Korinar, Captain Krug has used the Romulan's missile's trail to determine the location of the cloaked Romulan Bird of Prey. Although he can’t yet determine if the Klingon colony ship actually survived the explosion from the missile which it managed to destroy, Krug orders all his ship’s disruptors to fire on the Romulans.

His attack badly damages the Bird of Prey, but her captain gives the order to activate the cloak so they can avoid detection until the can use their weapons to destroy the asteroid. This will accomplish their primary mission — even though it will destroy themselves and everyone in the region as well! Shocked

On the bridge of the Enterprise, Kirk learns that their shields actually held during the blast created by the Romulan missile.

Fortunately the Klingon colony ship activated its warp drive and escaped just before the explosion!

Kirk orders the Enterprise into the dangerous radiation area around the Lagrange point so the Enterprise can escape from the gravity well.

Kirk addresses the ship at large and tells them to move towards the inner areas of the ship, away the hull, to be shielded from the radiation.

During this time, the maniacally dedicated Romulan commander orders the reactivation of the cloak, despite the fact that it draws massive amounts of power and will hamper the ship’s escape from the singularity created by the implosion of the Romulan scout ship, the Pi'R'Ath.

Aboard the Korinar, Captain Krug orders his weapons officer to fire a photon torpedo at the Romulan’s port nacelle so it can't escape the powerful gravity well created by the Pi'R'Ath's collapse into a black hole.

However, the Bird of Prey executes a desperate evasive maneuver which causes the torpedo to miss the ship.

Moments before this, aboard the Abaddon, Captain Tatenen learns from Ayelbourne that his race is aware of the conflict going on “beyond the barrier” between the two dimensions. Ayelbourne claims that it must be stopped . . . but he makes a vague statement which both puzzles and enrages Captain Tatenen!

Summary of events depicted in the second set of images on page 13.
________________________________

The shape-shifter known as McGivers enters the bridge and has a very moving discussion about her relationship to the powerful Organians, who have a telepathetic link to her mind. She also state that they have a the plan which might be the salvation of the galaxy.

Tatenen questions McGivers and the Organian leader, Ayelborne, about who caused the change in the drone's coordinates and sent it to destroy the Romulan home world. Ayelborne explains that they actually caused McGivers to do to it (without her conscious knowledge) by exploiting a glitch in the drones AI, so they employed the drones “paranoia” to send a warning to the Romulans by threatening their home world.

Claymare, another Organian, states that the cruelty of the Romulans has caused great suffering throughout the galaxy. The detonation of the drone’s warhead on the Romulan moon will serve as powerful message, a warning that their destructive actions will no longer be tolerated.

Meanwhile, aboard the Klingon vessel, Krug is furious about the escape of the Romulan ship. He rages at his tactical officer, who begs Krug to forgive him. This only enrages Krug even more.

Krugs shouts insults at the terrified tactical officer, then he the pulls out his weapon and vaporizes the poor Klingon. Krug commands another officer to take over the weapons console and be ready to fire on the Romulans if (as he suspects) they attempt to attack from the rear.

Aboard the Enterprise, Spock informs Kirk that they have reached the boundary of the Lagrange point, and Kirk orders Sulu to take the ship out award two million kilometers from the singularity.

Aboard the Romulan Bird of Prey, the commander orders his tactical officer to make the nuclear missile ready to fire on the Klingon ship.

But when the commander is told that the Klingon ship is turning on them, he quickly orders the missile to be launched — even though he knows the Klingons will destroy it. However, he also orders the launch of a cloaked tricobalt mine from the ship’s stern tube, set to explode when it gets near the Klingons.

Kirk has positioned the Enterprise 100,000 km from the asteroid, placing it between his ship and the singularity. He orders the activation of the cloak.

Spock calculates the position of the Romulan ship by tracing the nuclear missile's exhaust trail back to the source, and he informs Kirk that the vessel is heading for the Lagrange point.

Krug feels great satisfaction at having destroyed the Romulan missile — but then his sihp’s sensors detect an energy surge from the approaching mine just before it detonates, and quickly he orders the helmsman to bring the ship “hard over”, hoping to escape the full force of the blast. The maneuver succeeds, but the magnetic pulse of the blast fries the Klingon ship's electronic circuits.

On the Enterprise, Spock informs Kirk that the Romulan plasma torpedo will be ready to fire in about two minutes. McCoy informs Kirk that they can only survive thirty seconds of the radiation if they re-enter the Lagrange point, but Kirk is convinced they can rush in and fire torpedoes in time to destroy the plasma torpedo.

In Engineering, Scotty tells kirk that he’s already loaded the high-yield torpedoes which the Abaddon beamed over, thanks to the fact that Mr. Sulu anticipated the captain’s orders.

Aboard the Abaddon, Captain Tatenen learns more about McGivers' activities on behalf of the Organians, as well as several actions she took to safeguard the Abaddon and help save the Klingon ship.

The Organian super-beings are discussing the interaction between Tatenen and McGivers. But one of them informs his colleagues that the Enterprise is in danger, and the Abaddon must act soon.

McGivers tells Captain Tatenen that he must carry out the Organians plan to save Sherman’s planet, as well as the entire galaxy.

On the Abaddon’s view screen, Adelborne attempts to explain the complex nature of time and how it behaves differently in the normal universe compared to the “other universe” in which the Abaddon now exists.

The modified drone is shown approaching a fleet of Romulan ships which are defending the home world from this new threat. However, their weapons fail to affect it, and the drone continues to advance.

One light year away, Commodore Wesley and the Lexington’s crew witness the drone’s defeat of the Romulans by destroying one of the them and forcing the other three to flee. One is damaged, but the other two are headed straight for the Lexington — which is out of photon torpedoes!

Aboard the Klingon ship, Krug is fuming over the fact his ship is disabled and running on emergency power while the black hole is drawing it closer. He knows that he made a fatal mistake by failing to destroy the Romulan ship and allowing them to damage his ship instead.

Aboard the Abaddon, Captain Tatenen discusses his moral dilemma with Ayelborne, the leader of the Organans. He states that he feels a moral obligation to save the Romulans, even though they were responsible for the death of his wife and son, ten years ago.

Suddenly he notices McGivers face appears to be glowing and — speaking in Ayelborne’s voice — she tells him there might be a way to save both the Romulans and his long-dead family!

Aboard the Klingon ship Korinar — which is 250,000 km from the accretion disk around the black hole — Krug sends a message to the Enterprise, positioned 50,000 km's from the asteroid. “We are without power. Estimate 4 minutes to repair. Good luck.”

At that moment, Kirk orders the helmsman to plot a course to the Korinar so the Enterprise can lock on with a tractor beam and tow it to Lagrange point. Kirk also tells Sulu to fire forward torpedoes on his command.

Meanwhile, Ayelborne informs Tatenen that the Organians plan to send McGivers to the aid of the Lexington, with Ayelborne's “consciousness” residing in the electronic portion of McGivers’ brain. Meanwhile, McGivers will provide Watson with information needed to travel back in time and save Tatenen's family.

Suddenly the Abaddon’s main viewscreen shows the image of the Goliath, the ship which mysteriously vanished during a major battle, some time earlier.

Seconds later, McGivers shape-shifts and appears as Captain Mike Corrigan, the man who commanded the Goliath.

McGivers/Corrgan explains that Captain Corrigan was killed when the blast from a Romulan plasma torpedo catapulted the Goliath into the same strange realm in which the Abaddon now resides. McGivers/Corrgan states that he needs to present himself to the android crew of the Goliath as the real Corrigan, because they will only obey his commands.

Tatenen asks McGivers/Corrgan (who possesses the conscious of Ayelborne) to explain what the threat is that “endangers the entire galaxy”. And Tatenen also wants to know how the Organians can possibly save his wife and son without altering the timeline throughout the ten-year period since their deaths.

McGivers/Corrgan explains that when Tatenen bored a hole through the asteroid, hoping to use it in a surprise maneuver, he caused a situation that might create cause the neutronium core to collapse and send out a radioactive shock wave which would destroy all life in the galaxy!

Meanwhile, the special drone reaches it’s target and destroys one of the two moon of the Romulan home world, which is the location of the Romulan’s special weapons development facility. Fragments of the moon fly out in all directions . . . including straight towards the Romulan home world.

Hot damn, another stellar addition to this epic saga! Very Happy

You've hinted a few times that the story might come to a conclusion soon. Well, sir, I'm about as enthusiast about that as I was about the cancellation of TOS! Sad

If you feel the need to "reboot" the story and take it in a whole new direction, that would be fine with us Shermanites — the fans of this alternate Star Trek universe!

Your artistic endeavor is a real feather in the cap of All Sci-Fi, a special feature which is unique to our board. Cool

Other message boards can just eat their hearts out!

Summary of events depicted in the third set of images on page 13.
________________________________

Aboard the Lexington, Commodore Wesley receives a report from his first officer that the sentient drone has hit the Romulan moon Megara, causing it to break up.

Administrator Olax of the Romulan Home Guard contacts the Lexington, outraged at the destruction of the moon. But Wesley tries a bold bluff by informing Olax that the weapon was just a demonstration of what the Federation will do to the Romulan home world if their Bird of Prey is not immediately recalled, and all attempts to implode the asteroid are not ceased.

While waiting for Administrator Olax to respond, Wesley prepares the Lexington to battle the three approaching Romulan warships by raising its shields and charging the phaser banks.

But the Lexington is out of phototon torpedoes, and Wesley is not at all optimistic about their chances.

Suddenly Tactical Officer Green reports that the scanners have detected a distant object and an energy surge of unknown origin!

The long-missing dreadnought Goliath emerges from the anomaly and quickly falls in behind the Lexington.

Meanwhile, the Abaddon prepares to follow the Goliath through the barrier and back into our universe. Captain Tatenen is informed that the Romulan commander who was in the brig vanished the moment Captain Mike Corrigan of the Goliath was sent back to his ship by the God-like Organians.

Tatenen orders another special drone to be launched the instant the Lexington exits the anomaly.

Gazing at the main view screen, Tatenen and Watson see a tiny black dot which represents the approaching barrier between them and the normal universe.

Moments later, Watson tells his captain that they are back in normal space and the drone has been launched. Using modifications applied to the drone by the Organians, it will generate a wormhole and reach the Enterprise in ten seconds.

Watson also states that the Abaddon will soon reach a planet in the Beta Quadrant and assume a standard orbit while fully cloaked. Tatenen asked Watson what planet he is referring to.

Watson tells Tatenen that their destination is known as The Time Planet . . . the home of the portal which calls itself the Guardian of Forever.

Meanwhile, aboard the Enterprise, Captain Kirk contacts Commander Krug on the Korinar, which is being drawn into the singularity formed by the implosion of the Romulan scout, and informs him that they're en route to the Lagrange point but will make a detour in an attempt to tow the Klingons out of the gravity well with a tractor beam.

Krug replies urgently that they do not wish to be rescued — they want the Enterprise to destroy the Romulans and let them die with honor!

Kirk pleads with the noble Klingon commander to let him rescue the crew of his doomed ship. But Krug remains adamant — it is their desire to die rather than suffer the humiliation of being rescued, instead of destroying their sworn enemy, the Romulans!

Kirk realizes that the only chance he has to save the determined Klingon warriors is to stop the Romulans from launching the plasma torpedo at the asteroid. The captain orders Sulu to take the Enterprise to the Lagrange point and be ready to fire torpedoes 1 and 2 at the Romulan ship the instant it decloaks.

At that moment, Spock announces that a drone just appeared on the sensors, traveling at high warp straight for the singularity!

Back aboard the Lexington, Commodore Wesley is told that the dreadnought that appeared moments ago is indeed the Goliath, which vanished months earlier.

Wesley also learns that the Romulan Administrator Olax has relented by ordering the Romulan Bird of Prey recalled and the Romulan warships to break off their planned attack on the Lexington.

On the bridge of the Enterprise, Spock states that the drone which emerged from the wormhole appears to be like the special drone which the Lexington was chasing. It's on a direct course to the singularity and will reach it in seven seconds.

Scotty interrupts frantically to tell Kirk that the ship's energizer has blown, leaving the ship dead in space. Scott needs 45 seconds to repair it. Unfortunately, the Romulans will fire the plasma torpedo at the asteroid in 25 seconds!

On the bridge of the Romulan Bird of Prey, they receive strict orders from Administrator Olax to abort their mission, return to Romulus, and NOT fire at the asteroid.

Stunned by this shocking turn of events, the Romulans are aware that once the weapon has been charged, it MUST be fired! Having lost their prime target, the Romulan Commander decides to use the weapon . . . on the disabled Enterprise!

Kirk is desperately hoping that Scotty will work a miracle and restore the energizer before the helpless Enterprise is destroyed. His prayers are answered when Scotty calls to say that his repairs are almost complete, and he's prepared one torpedo to launch manually.

However, Spock tells Kirk that the Romulans are now targeting the Enterprise with the plasma torpedo, and they're closing from the rear.

Out of pure desperation, Kirk tells Sulu to fire the torpedo as soon as the Romulans are in range and then engage the warp engines . . . in full reverse!

The Abaddon approaches The Time Planet and detects three federation ships in orbit, but the cloaked dreadnought goes into orbit undetected.

The android known as Watson beams down to the planet and plans to use his advanced cybernetic systems to calculate the exact moment to enter the Guardian of Forever so he can appear at the time and place when Tatenen's wife and son were killed.

Only Watson could succeed in performing such a task so precisely and rescuing Tatenen's family!
