Ever since the brief-but-thrilling chase scene in Bullitt roared across the screen in 1968, we've seen car stunts that staggered the imagination.

Which choice on the list below would you vote for, and why do you feel it has something special that the other choices might lack?

Feel free to do a little research on your choice to back up any statements you make.

"Gentlemen! Start your search engines!" Cool

There are a lot of great movie chases. If you ever get to see it, "The 7-Ups" (1973) has a great chase that was done by the same people that did the chase in "Bullitt". Another great chase scene is in "The French Connection" (1971), Where Gene Hackman is racing an elevated train through the New York City streets to beat it to the next station. I haven't seen the remake, but the original "Gone In 60 Seconds"(1974), had a 40 minute car chase across six California cities, and wrecked 93 cars! Lets not forget the insanity of "The Blues Brothers", where they had the actors actually driving at high speed through the streets of Chicago, and through a shopping mall. The movie wrecked a then record of 103 cars filming the movie!

David.

Yes indeed, David. Folks just love them thar car chases! Cool

There are quite a few great moments in It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, World of course.

And in 1976 Ron Howard starred in Eat My Dust, one year before Smokey and the Bandit came out . . . and three years before The Dukes of Hazzard — which is ironic, because Ron steals an orange Chevy Camaro that looks like the General Lee's younger brother, and he spends the whole movie running from the fuzz! Shocked

The trailer proves conclusively that it deserves to be on our list of great car chase movies.
