Check out Dennis Villenueve's (of Arrival and Blade Runner 2049 fame) update of Dune.

What do you guys think of the trailer?

Hans Zimmer knocks it out of the park with the score so far at least.
I feel like they're gonna have to work at it to mess this one up.

It looks like this third attempt to express Herbert's vision may just be the charm! (forth attempt if you count Jodorwosky's !)

Here's how Screenrant describes this movie.
______________________________________________

Denis Villeneuve's highly anticipated Dune is based on Frank Herbert's seminal sci-fi novel of the same name.

Dune is one of the most influential books in the genre, notably inspiring many elements of Star Wars. It is also considered unadaptable — David Lynch's 1984 version was a critical and commercial failure.

However, Villeneuve has proven himself as a sci-fi auteur with films like Arrival and Blade Runner 2049, putting him in a good position to adapt the unadaptable.

Timothee Chalamet plays Paul Atreides, the heir to House Atreides. He and his family are sent to the barely habitable planet Arrakis, also known as Dune. Vast dessert landscapes, iconic sandworms, and the spice melange — which allows interstellar travel — abound.

The film features an all-star cast, including Oscar Isaac, Rebecca Ferguson, Zendaya, Javier Bardem, and Jason Momoa.

Most of those comments (and the famous names it included) sailed right over my head . . . but I'm hoping that what it all meant is that this movie will be enjoyable
. Very Happy

This was a good telling of the story. There are few sections of the novel that can be eliminated, so it is necessary to do multiple movies or one loooong one!

I've never read any of the books (and don't care to), so I don't know how accurate this version is, but it is enjoyable, if too long and draggy in spots. Visually impressive though I prefer many of the designs in the Lynch version.
