Chesley Bonestell was a great artist, and to make sure he got the perspectives right, he had models built to help him.

His early Moon Rocket.



His later Moon Ship.



His "When Worlds Collide" Space Ark.



I hope everyone enjoys the photos. These are the only ones I've found, but I can't help wondering what other models he had built to help him.

Cowabonga, David, I never knew Mr. Bonestell had reference models created as visual aids when he did his great paintings!

I hope you find more photos!

In the meantime here's two images of Brent Gair's version of the When Worlds Collide ship . . . which he made out of wood! Shocked

I wonder what material Bonestell used.
