If anybody is too lazy to watch the video, here's the GIF version.

Blue powder poured into water. Strange gray glop suddenly appears. Spoon dips down into glop . . . and comes back up with bone-dry blue powder again! Shocked

That's a real hoot, all right. I assume that the appearance of the blue sand underwater is the result of an air jacket forming around the sand, the reflective properties of the air making it appear gray or silver.

Ah, but what is the RED "sand" that he sprinkles on top of the water at first? You have to watch the video (not just the gif) to see that clearly.

Yes, indeed he would. Waterproof sand. If you put this on beaches, sandcastles would be impossible to build. Shocked
