Riddle me this!

What does a large alligator, a cowboy with James Bond gadgets, and a very strange kind of alien invasion have in common? Confused

Well . . . nothing . . . except that they're today's Featured Threads. Laughing

I had fun modifying this image to a version of Jim West's personnel transportation, the Aston Martin DB5 of choo-choo trains. Cool, eh? Cool

Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978)

Opening Statement: IMDB has several interesting trivia items for this production.

~ Donald Sutherland was hit by a Volkswagen beetle while filming a shot of Matthew and Elizabeth running. He fell onto the windshield and was able to see the driver saying "Oh, my God! Not you!"

Note from me: Sutherland should have shouted back at the driver, "They're Here! You're next!!"

Lake Placid (1999)

Opening Statement: IMDB has several interesting trivia items for this production.

~ Sheriff Keough's "big gun" was a fake gun made specifically as a prop for this movie. They even gave it a fake name, calling it a "Light Weight Forward Area Air Device Unit" which itself is a pretty good parody of military jargon. It was not an M-203 grenade launcher, which fires 40mm grenades. The "grenades" shown with the gun were a good deal smaller than 40mm.

Note from me: With all the actual weaponry they could have used, I wonder why they felt the need to make a prop.

The Wild, Wild West (1999)

Opening Statement: IMDB has several interesting trivia items for this production.

~ Will Smith turned down the lead role in The Matrix (1999) to star in this movie, being a fan of the television series. He later said this was the worst decision he made in his career.

Note from me: Bad news for Will Smith. Good news for the Matrix. Will was not right for that movie.
