I saw this one recently, and it is awesome!

The story is sufficiently complex and imaginative to confuse enough of the critics to get this move several "mixed reviews". But in my opinion the story is like the living room floor on Christmas morning for a kid whose parents don't know how to say no to their little angle. Here's a plot packed with more goodies than a pi??ata, one of those movies you know is shooting things past you faster than you can catch them in one viewing — which is a good thing, because you're getting more than your money's worth.

Wikipedia includes these quotes from the critics.

The Los Angeles Times said critics found Terminator Genisys to be a "messy sequel" that was a "convoluted retread" of past films. According to TheWrap, critics found the time travel storyline to be "convoluted" and that the performances were "unremarkable" aside from Schwarzenegger reprising his role.

Well, let me see now. Which part of that do I agree with? Ummm . . . the part which said it was a sequel with a story involving time travel, and that Arnold did what he promised: He came back.

In addition to Mr. Schwarzenegger, the lovely Emilia Clarke plays Sara Conner. She does a fine job.

And I didn't even realize she was the hot blonde with the loyal pets in Game of Thrones until I was looking for a good picture of her and saw this one.

Anyway, the movie is highly recommended by yours truly, so don't let anyone talk you out of watching it.

Emilia Clarke cleans up well, doesn't she? Thanks for the heads-up, I'd about given up on that movie after seeing the reviews. The YouTube "Honest Trailers" guys were pretty scathing too.

Bulldogtrekker and I watched our DVDs while we chatted about it on Facebook.

Early in the movie I told him that the reviewers didn't like the movie and that this would mean we would like it — because often that's how it works with us. Apparently the reviewers' idea of "a messy sequel that was a convoluted retread of past films" was our idea of putting together good ideas worth using again, in smart ways that did them justice.

A movie doesn't always have to present ideas that are "brand new". It can present ideas that have been "gently used" and "previously owned", and still give the viewer a real good ride. Very Happy
