This is the 1st Moebius moonbus release. Before they had the 2001 license.

It is reverse engineered from the old Aurora kit, with improved windshield.

I modified it to match the set used in the movie.

I removed 2 passenger seats and scratch built the tools/crates.

Other than that its built OOTB.

Here it is with my 2001 Monolith action figure.

It has zero points of articulation!

I'll bet some devoted fan of 2001: A Space Odyssey who was stinking rich could build a full-sized version of the Moonbus as a motor home with wheels, and then tour the country with his family! Very Happy

You know, like one of those cool Airstream motor homes! Cool

Forgive me, Mach7, but I couldn't resist illustrating my idea by modifying your great model. Very Happy

Thanks for the kind words!

But...

Why did you do that Bud?!

Now I have to have one!!!!!!

It looks doable, The GMC 1975 motorhome looks like a good start.

The big question is 1 center front wheel or 2 on a regular axle.

Why did I do it?

This is what a creative guy does when he doesn't have the patience to actually build models, but he does have the amazing free application called Paint.net and a burning need to sit on his sofa —

— while he conjures up images like the one in my post above! Mr. Green

Actually, there are 13 pieces of equipment in the entertainment center, but only 7 have remotes. Mr. Green

Actually, four of the components are over 50 years old, while other components range in age from 10 to 30 years.

Two of the components no longer work well enough to use anymore, and one of them is an older model 5-disc DVD player that I don't use because the Blu-ray player is much better.

Because all that, I now only have 5 of the remotes shown above on the end table.

Funny, but I designed something almost exactly like that when I was 16 years old! Only my Moonbus Motorhome didn't have the rocket bells (they're of no use on a land vehicle) and I omitted most of the useless "greeblies."
