This fairly amusing comedy is Monogram studios' effort to squeeze one last film out of the horror genre which was so popular during the 1940s.

The Bowery Boys do what Abbott & Costello did the year before they meet Glenn Strange, who plays a generic Frankenstein monster created by mad scientist Alan Napier (TV's "Batman", "The Mole People"). Napier wants Strange to have a new brain, and Huntz Hall is elected to donate his own. The makeup is by horror veteran Jack Pierce.

Directed by Jean Yarbrough, who gave us Monogram hits like "The Devil Bat" (1941). Yarbrough directed Abbott & Costello's "Jack and the Beanstalk" in 1952.

Sadly, Leo Gorcey would leave the Bowery Boys series due to his struggles with alcoholism & depression.

He would make a cameo in the epic comedy film It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World as a cab driver who drops the Krumps off at Dinkler's hardware store.

Huntz Hall would become a wealthy gent due to shrewd investments he made over the years.

Sach may have been a dope on screen, but certainly not Hall.

When in doubt, post the trailer!

When NOT in doubt . . . post it anyway! Rolling Eyes

IMDB has one amusing trivia item worth sharing.

~ Sometimes the censors are asleep at the switch. Near the end of the movie during a scene with a lot of hubbub, Gabe says to Sach, the monster, "Hey, don't you remember me? I'm your pal. We used to write our names in the snow." This a reference to a feat practiced by boys in snowy climes.

Note from me: I'm trying to imagine writing anything in the snow that would be even vaguely legible by using a stream of urine. But then, I guess neatness doesn't count in this case. Laughing
