While watching one on the amazing “nature documentaries” which Sir David Attenborough narrates (in this case, Blue Planet, to be exact), I was extremely impressed by the incredible beauty of our unique planet.

The astounding beauty and the incredible variety of life on this planet has convinced me that it’s a complete waste of time trying to find life on other planets!

Why bother? We have amazing life forms on this planet that we haven’t even discovered yet — and thousands of the lifeforms we’ve found in the deep ocean look more aliens than anything Hollywood has presented.

The smart, the strange, and the dangerous: life on a coral reef | Natural History Museum

___________

Our own biosphere is packed with such an astounding array of strange and beautiful creatures — ranging from humpback whales to tiny insects — that we’ll never find a planet which compares to Earth!

And there are still creature we haven’t discovered yet!

To make mattes worse, many of the lifeforms we have discovered are in danger of extinction, thanks to the callous and moronic activities of mankind. Good lord, we’re living on a planet that might be the greatest ecosystem in the galaxy . . . and we’re blundering round, killing off species on a daily basis that will soon become extinct!

Having said that, here’s the premise for a novel I’d love to write.

Unbeknownst to the human race, the UFOs we've spotted for the last 75 years have been drones that were sent to gather detailed data on Earth's ecosystems, lifeforms, and how mankind has been treating this incredible world.

Earth is a very special planet — so special, in fact, that a fleet of alien starships suddenly appeared in orbit around Earth, and alien ambassadors met with the world’s leaders to explain why they’ve traveled many light years to meet with us.

They tell us that in all the Milky Way Galaxy, no planet has the profusion of lifeforms which Earth possesses. The intelligent beings on a thousand planets have watched the amazing videos which which have been transmitted by their drones.

They've also watched documentaries created by naturalist like David Attenborough and many others. All these images have been viewed by thousands of alien races — and they're mesmerized by what they’ve seen!

Unfortunately, these alien beings from all over the galaxy are shocked by the callous and self-destructive way that mankind is spoiling this gorgeous planet which, by good fortune, we’ve inherited.

To resolve this tragic situation, the Galactic Alliance of Sentient Life has decided to remove mankind from the planet and relocated us to another world — one with a completely artificial environment and lavish accommodations for all mankind! Very Happy

On this new planet we will all live in luxery, free from the trouble and strife we’ve endured on Earth. All the various citizens of each nation will have their own separate regions, without interference from the people of other cultures.

Meanwhile, the planet Earth will finally be safe from the destructive presence of mankind. At last it will be free from the mindless pollution of the ocean, free from the moronic polluters of the atmosphere, free from the cruel destroyers of vast ecosystems.

Earth’s animals would no longer be bred and harvested in massive quantities for human consumption.

Earth’s natural resources would no long be plunder by people who made no effort to replace what they’ve taken.

All trace of human habitation would be removed from the face of the Earth by the aliens.

The cities, roads, and other structures would be scoured form the surface, the oceans would be cleaned up, and the the ecosystems would be restored.

After mankind had been removed from the planet of his origin, the wiser and more responsible citizens of the galaxy would be free to enjoy 3D hi-definition virtual tours of Earth’s remarkable ecosystem!

Guys, you’re living on the ultimate alien world. Buy the DVD’s I've mentioned and find out just what it’s really like to visit an “alien world”.

After posting the imaginative but somewhat rosy concept above — inspired by the nature documentary Planet Earth — I started watching my newly acquired DVD of Planet Earth II.

It was made a decade after the previous documentary, and it begins with Sir David Attenborough sadly informing us that mankind's sad disregard for the lifeforms on Earth is even worse than ever. Sad

It's now apparent that the progress of mankind is causing the extinction of all other forms of life!

With that in mind, I wish to amend my post above.

The idea that the aliens who come to save our planet's ecosystems would simply transport mankind to a utopian plant — while the aliens struggle to restore Earth to its pristine glory — obliviously lets the humans off the hook far too easily! Rolling Eyes

With that serious injustice in mind, I think the aliens should forcefully remove mankind from Earth and relocate us to a barren planet that resembles what Earth would be like in a few hundred years if we'd continue to destroy our own ecosystem.

But the aliens would include numerous containers with hi-tech equipment capable of establishing a thriving new ecosystem to this barren world . . . in about a hundred years.

The survival of mankind would rely on the relocated humans working together to turn the barren planet into a thriving world, complete with a vigorous new ecosystem populated by alien flora and fauna, well suited for the alien world.

In other words, we'd be forced to "pay for our sins" by doing the exactly opposite of what we did to our home planet. And if we didn't succeed, we'd slowly die off on that barren world — the same fate we'd have suffered on the dying Earth.
