Thanks, Gord.

I looked at as much as I could before Facebook decided to block me, but I don't see much I don't already have Robby-wise (on the FB page, at least). I may still pick the book up but I'll have to clear a few other expenses first.

I received my copy of CANDID MONSTERS VOLUME 21 SF Pt.6. I haven't had a chance to to read it yet, but I am looking forward to doing so, I have however looked through the book. There are some great photos that I have never seen before.

One problem is the colorization of the photos. It is fair at best and the color varies in the photos. In some photos the uniforms are varying shade of blue, and in one photo of the saucer set, the saucer rim is light blue, not steel. The colors for the control room set in no way matches the colors in the movie.

It would have been better to leave the photos in B&W. But others may prefer the colorization.

David.

Not sure anyone's seen this photo of the Krell lab and the plastic educator control console.

Bud, happy to oblige. I just wasn't sure if the photo had been shared before.

Just as a introduction of sorts.... I first saw Forbidden Planet from the back seat of my Dad's old Belaire at the drive in double billed with South Pacific back in "56. The movie completely blew my little mind at the time! I remember making a Krell lab model using parts of my Marx Space Patrol playset and repainting my Lindburg UFO model to look like the C-57-D.

I just thought I share a 2015 post by Gord about his first viewing of Forbidden Planet in 1956. This is an excerpt from one of the earliest posts on the current version of All Sci-Fi, back in 2015! Very Happy

Here's where I first saw Forbidden Planet in 1956: the El Rey Theater in Chico, CA. (This photo was from 1963. "Three-hole Buick!")

What a beautiful photo of that magnificent theater! Very Happy

I found some images of the interior, and it was SPECTACULAR!

Click on image below and read about the Del Rey's wonderful history. Cool
