Thanks, Wayne. Very Happy

Scot was right when he said that The Argonauts' Quest for the Golden Fleece was unwieldy, especially for folks iike us who know the title needs to pronounced all together, with no pause.

But when I first made the poster (without the apostrophe), I wanted to indicate that it was a two-part title which had a dramatic pause in the middle. The larger font for the first part indicates that it is the "actual title", and the second part tells us what the story is about.

The line between the two phrases are like elipses.

So, it should be pronounced like this.

The Argonauts . . . Quest for the Golden Fleece

However, based on the fine recommendations from both you and Scot, I now realize the best way to announce that this is a sequel to Jason and Argoauts would be this way!

My GOD, I wish they'd made this movie back in the 1960s! Shocked

Of course, it could also be done this way.

I suppose, but I resisted the urge to simply call it Jason and the Argonauts II because this is an imaginary movie from the 1960s, and adding II's to sequels was something Hollywood started much later.

Besides that, I didn't want to put a Roman numeral after the title of a movie about Greek mythology. It might start an international incident! Shocked

DYK? : Lawrence Naismith who plays Argos, the designer of Jason's legendary vessel, was associated with another legendary ship?

He played Captain Edward John Smith of the Titanic, in the 1958 movie A Night to Remember, based upon the famous book by Walter Lord. The movie is an almost documentary-style telling of the tragic sinking of the ocean liner in 1912. It's the best film about the Titanic because it strives for accuracy without schmaltzy love stories.

I got to see JatA on the big screen when it was re-released in 1978 (and the only Harryhausen film I ever saw in the theater). It was one of the best cinematic experiences I ever had. Very Happy

Jason and the Argonauts is hands-down my favorite Harryhausen film, and a Top 5 favorite movie of all time.

I remember seeing this on Bob Wilkins' Creature Features in the very late 70's, and I have been a fan ever since. I own both the DVD and a digital version, and I watch it at least once every other month.

Of course, the next day after I first saw this, you better believe me and my friends were fighting skeletons out in the front yard with makeshift swords.

Wade, you are truly my "brother from another mother"! Very Happy

My friends and I did the same thing back in the 1960s after going to various theaters to watch Jason so many times we knew which of the seven hydra heads were looking as Jason's right knee at any given moment. Rolling Eyes

A few weeks after Jason had finished it's run at the drive-in's, my friend Jimmy rented a 16mm print one weekend so we could watch on our church's projector!

He also spent hours making hundreds of photos directly from the 16mm print, using a camera that clamped one frame of film in place and copied the image! Cool

A few months later, we found out that an army surplus store had old German-made bayonets that were about 22" long (about the length of a Roman short sword), complete with the steel sheaths,

The three of us each bought one, and I modified mine in my father's work shop, using his vice and his grinding wheel to turn this —

— in this! Very Happy

Then the three of us headed out for a heavily wooded area which had a path along a creek, and we'd battled monsters with our "swords". Very Happy

Isn't it great how many childhood memories we remember due to watching some of these fantastic movies.

You don't get memories like this from sitting in front of the TV playing Playstation or Xbox. Confused

Exactly! The key difference is that we made our own hero's weapons by hand, we picked actually locations to wage our battles, and we created our monsters with our imaginations.

"Gamers" today just press the play button and twiddle a controller. All the real work is done for them. The only thing they slay are their own brain cells from stagnation.
