If you've been wondering why I changed All Sci-Fi's "Mission Statement" at the top of the main index from Nothin' but pure science fiction! to the one shown below —





— here's the answer.

On Thanksgiving Day in 2023, I watched the Macy's parade and saw a float which carried a popular musical group who performed the song in the video at the bottom of this post.

This wonderful piece of music instantly reminded me that I've struggled to keep All Sci-Fi alive since I first created it in 2006 for one simple reason — I desperately wanted to find people who (like me) grew up loving science fiction and wanted to share their own passionate ideas about this exciting subject.

Unfortunately, I haven't been as successful as I'd hoped.

All Sci-Fi has never had a large number of active members. In fact, many of the ones who've joined us often drifted away after a few years . . . for reasons I've never understood.

However, I remain determined to keep on trying attract new members, and naturally I greatly appreciate the members we have now who contribute interesting posts.

Anyway, guys, please listen to the lyrics to the song below and think about how it relates to All Sci-Fi and the importance of finding friends who understand each other.

If the song doesn't move you like it does me . . . well, then maybe this really isn't the "place to find your people".
