Science fiction's answers to the 1946 classic "The Beast With Five Fingers" -- or rather a poor man's version. Incompetent film making and an ultra low budget largely defeat the effort.
An astronaut's spacecraft blows up, and his severed hand falls to Earth. An alien intelligence mobilizes the hand and sends it crawling around in search of people to strangle. A disturbed teenager falls under the evil spell of the hand and starts helping it murder people.
Several familiar faces in the cast give this film its only points of interest. Kent Taylor (The Day Mars Invaded Earth, Phantom From 10,000 Leagues), Richard Arlen (Human Duplicators), Allison Hayes (Attack of the 50-Foot Woman), and Alan Hale, Jr. (Gilligan's Island) all contribute what little they can to this less than worthy sci-fi entry. Written and directed by Herbert L. Strock. _________________ ____________

You haven't lived until you've seen the goriest and sexiest scenes from this movie while the The Trashmen's hit song "Surfin' Bird" from 1963 plays all the way through it! A melodramatic narrator says things like, "You'll experience a new dimension in motion picture thrills when you see . . . The Crawling Hand!"
Yeah, right.
Well, here's the trailer, and below that is the Youtube video of "Surfin' Bird" without the distraction of the narrator.
Hey, I'll bet you can't name another message board which offers treats like that to it's members!

I just whiffed this stinker last night.
Yikes
I like Alan Hale so watched it, and he was excellent as always, but I found myself fast forwarding through most of it, especially the beginning. SOOOOOO much talking and nothing else. _________________ "Have you never wondered what it would be like to walk between the ticks and tocks of Time?" |
