REX REASON - (Aka Bart Roberts) was a very competent actor with an incredibly deep, rich voice and striking good looks, the perfect square-jawed hero.

Despite his obvious talent, Mr. Reason only appeared in approximately one film per year between 1952 and 1960, followed by a brief period as a regular on the TV series "The Roaring Twenties".

His portrayal of Dr. Cal Meacham in This Island Earth (1955) assured Mr. Reason a permanent place in the vintage sci-fi Hall of Fame. One year later he again teamed up with his former co-star Jeff Morrow in The Creature Walks Among Us (1956).

Mr. Reason eventually retired from acting and became a businessman in Los Angles. He passed away in 2015.

Mr. Reason's younger brother, Rhodes Reason, appeared in the TOS episode Bread and Circuses as a Roman gladiator who befriends Kirk and company. The resemblance between Rex and Rhodes is uncanny, despite the fact that they aren't twins.
