Always thought that it would have been fun to see an episode of Seaquest DSV where they discover the Seaview & its crew in suspended animation.

Of course with the passing of real time Richard Basehart was deceased & David Hedison et al would all be older.

So the hibernation process would have been imperfect to explain the actual aging of the actors.

Here's a wonderful trailer for a beloved movie. Watch it and then grab your DVD to let Frankie Avalon serenade you with the title theme. Very Happy

I think it's really odd that the vast majority of artwork and models of the Seaview are the one from the TV series, with four windows, not the movie version with eight. The picture below is the best one I've found (and just about the only one) of the movie version.

However, finding pictures of Barbara Eden is easier than catching fish with sticks of dynamite. Here's two publicity shots from the movie.

That's not even a good model of the movie version -- it's the horribly inaccurate old Aurora model kit (or the Polar Lights repop).

But there are plenty of pictures of the 8-window movie version available -- including the much more accurate Moebius 1/128 scale model.

Are there? The three at the link you posted look a bit like computer graphics, not photos of the model, because of the super-smooth shading. The first one is a nice shot, though. Very Happy

But I hope you'll post some of those better examples you mentioned. I prefer the movie version and wish I could find good pictures of it.

What a beautiful sight! So trim and gorgeous curved shape!

NOT the Seaview......Barbara Eden!

I used to date a girl that looked just like her...Those were the days !

......Sigh.......

________________________________

Virginia Marsden guest starred on an episode of Star Trek Voyager in 1998 as a woman Chakotay fell in love with, and the first time I saw the episode, she reminded me of a girl I had dated in high school during the late 1960s, and then again four years later when I got out of the Air Force.

The lady and I dated for over a year, and we still stay in touch. Here's her current Facebook picture, next to a picture Ms. Marsden from about 10 years ago. Virginia is ten years younger than my former girlfriend, so she's significantly younger in the picture on the left than she is today.

The resemblance is fairly obvious.
Very Happy

The link above takes you to a website about Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea. I wasn't looking for the site but I am posting the link since I know I will never find it again.

EDIT
And here is the photo of the tail fins and two propellers on the Seaview. My father would always tell me that submarines did not have two propellers
