An abominable snowman (and its abominable baby) are discovered in the backlands of Japan.

When the baby is captured and mistreated, the parent monster comes to the rescue, similar to "Gorgo". Viewer sympathy, therefore, is with the monster. The film has good intentions, but the low budget makes this one tough to endure.

Toho Pictures of Japan was having a field day in the 1950s by "Americanizing" their sci-fi pictures with spliced-in scenes of actors we would recognize ("Godzilla", for example, inherited Raymond Burr).

Inoshiro Honda directed the original version, and Kenneth Crane (director of "Monster from Green Hell") handled the American add-on scenes for "Half-Human", which featured John Carradine and the legendary Morris Ankrum.

John Carradine provides a nice scene when he tells two other scientists that the Yeti does exist! Rolling Eyes

Take a look at this trailer, narrated by the great Art Gilmore!
