John Carradine plays a mad scientist who concocts zombies in his basement lab. The "makeup" for the zombies are skeleton masks. The late Wendell Corey capped his career by portraying a CIA agent. Most viewers agree that this one is a strong contender of the Worst Film of All Time award.

I have this on DVD and I'm planning to get the BD which is now in pre-order.

Of course it's a ridiculous movie. But I think of this comment by Joe Dante about THE ATOMIC KID..."it's a bizarre artifact of a crazy era." That gives it value for me.

The world is full of great movies, good movies and OK movies. I like the odd stuff. I like something that I don't see on TV every week. I've got a 100 frickin' TV channels. If I want to watch Forbidden Planet or 2001, I wait a few days and it will be on the tube.

I love the days when an independent had to actually shoot a movie on film and sell it to theaters. Low budget schlock has migrated to Syfy where it's cranked out by technicians and committees to fit a formula. I drive a 1968 Triumph...a car completely lacking in the sophistication and polish of any modern vehicle...but possessing ten times as much heart and personality.

Thus it is with 1968 drive-in schlock...completely lacking in sophistication and polish but capturing the spirit of a free-wheeling and free-thinking era.

I've come realize over the years (actually, the decades . . . ) that expectations are everything. If you're in the mood for Star Wars and you watch White Christmas, you won't enjoy it (at least, not the way you did last Christmas).

I can't count the times I've written an elaborate post for a movie here on All Sci-Fi and ended up eager to watch the movie by the time I finished.

And finally, nobody appreciates the way a movie can capture the flavor of its era more than I do. (Except maybe you. But I'm a close second.)
