_______

The absolute worst Bigfoot movie of them all, primarily because of the fact that the viewer never gets to see the alleged snowbeast! Not even a glimpse. All the scenes involving the monster are shot from the monster's point of view a shaky, hand-held camera which the actors look at, scream at, and fight with while the sound track is filled with grunts, growls and gurgled-filled breathing.

The hero (Bo Svenson) kills the "monster" by sticking a ski pole into the cameraman's chest. The ski pole protrudes into the frame while the cameraman gurgles, grunts, staggers back, and rolls down a snowbank. When he stops breathing, the ski pole stops bobbing up and down, and the movie ends. Director Herb Wallerstein probably isn't too proud of this insulting rip-off. Ditto for co-stars: Yvette Mimieux ("The Time Machine"), Slyvia Sydney, and Clint Walker.

Here's a fairly good version of this movie. The picture isn't real sharp, but otherwise it looks fairly good.

Enjoy! Very Happy

IMDB has several interesting trivia items for this production. Very Happy

~ The scene where the snowbeast attacks the town hall during the snow queen ceremony was written in to replace a previously scripted and filmed attack scene that was deemed too violent to be aired on television.

Note from me: They actually filmed a scene that was MORE violent than a monster attacking the people at a snow queen ceremony? Sounds hideous — accept that you rare even catch a glimpse of the creature, and all of the deaths are "off screen". Rolling Eyes

~ The Snowbeast returns in Snow Beast (2011), complete with the same costum

Note from me: Actually, the costumes is well designed. Very Happy

~ Based on the Bigfoot creature that was seen for over 100 years in Colorado and the Pacific Northwest. Joseph Stefano wrote the script, taking much of the information from Roger Patterson's encounter with a Bigfoot in 1967.

Note from me: Here's a computer-stablized version of the famous shaky footage.
