Fox's 'Fantastic Four' meets doom at the box office

Fantastic Four' Flops at Weekend Box Office: ABC News

It's nowhere close to breaking even. Fox's Fantastic Four turned out to be a fantastic flop, grossing only about $26 million in North America in its opening weekend. The superhero saga had a reported budget of $120 million.

Word from day one regarding the shooting of FF was not good.

I was hoping they were wrong but that is not the case.
By all accounts this film is terrible & nose diving at the box office.

I did like some of the updates it did. The idea of having the team gain their powers via inter-dimensional travel instead of outer space cosmic rays was interesting.

A CGI Thing was definitely the way to go.

The Thing body suits that were in the first 2 films were not horrible but CGI is vastly superior.

However, I'll stay away from this turkey & appreciate just how great Ant-Man was.

I don't know, in the photos, and clips I have seen of the CGI Ken Doll Thing, he looks more like dirty oatmeal than rock. I actually think that the costume in the previous movies looked better.

I totally agree, David. The Thing in the two FF movies looks terrific, and he's portrayed perfectly. He's gruff, but likeable — exactly the way I imagined him when I read the comics as a kids.

And I love the fact that the actor who played The Thing did the voice himself during filming without needing any dubbing!
