We had a thread for this on the old board, and I've been meaning to start one here. This will have to do for now.

Mark Zicree released this promo for his project. He's been working on this for years. I hope it turns out well.

Mark is a very talented writer whose work I've enjoyed over the years.

Love his Twilight Zone Companion Book.

I should probably get that book. I received my book on Science Fiction Theatre today and I'm looking forward to spending hours with it! Very Happy

I had higher hopes for this in the proposal stages than I do now that we've been shown assorted shots.

The phony-looking pyrotechnics in the live action scenes aside, one of my pet peeves about the otherwise decent-looking rocket flyby glamor shots is the overdone maneuvering. They want to make sure you get a good look at the ships from every angle. It reminds me of some student film projects. You can tell when a movie was made by a film class because a character with a weapon obviously made specifically for the film is overly attentive to it, like he's holding the piece for the first time. The filmmakers want to be sure it gets ample screen time to justify the effort of making it.

Well, okay, maybe.

But . . . if you were flying a ship like that, wouldn't you hot rod all over the sky while screaming "Yaaaaaa--hooooo!" like the Duke boys?

By God, I would!
Very Happy

Someone asked Steve Neil about the project and the spacesuit he was making for the project. He said that the original team fell apart over the story. It had originally been conceived as a Conquest-Of-Space, exploring the Solar System type of story, with a 50s feel. Mark Zicree wanted a more Star Wars type film, so they left the project.

Steve Neil did say that he intends to finish the suit one day, maybe to be used in another project.

Any idea, when this is going to escape? I say 'escape', because from the looks of it, and the dialog, that is the only way it is getting out.

David.

The early script I saw was like Flash Gordon meets Star Trek, and nothing much like the 50s thing they pitched it as. The script was pretty bad, too, with one sequence basically being the Whole New World scene from Aladdin minus the song. Ugh.

I contributed about $100 during the Kickstarter program a few years ago, and one of the "thank you" rewards was supposed to be a copy of the DVD. However, I'm certainly not expecting much from this production anymore. Sad

I think you'll have to change the release date to (20??), Bud.

For what's it's worth, here's the website for Space Command.

This project started out as a tantalizing promise, and now it's become nothing but large empty one. Sad

The trailers on the website above look nice, but I suspect this series (if the damn thing ever airs) will be like The Orville — lot's nice FX and nothing else to recommend.

IMDB still shows the air dates as (2016 - ), and the other info like this.

Seasons -- unknown

Years -- unknown

I still get e-mailed "progress" reports, but anymore I delete them without reading (or watching if they're videos). I've lost interest altogether. If I ever get my promised DVD I'll watch as much of it as I can tolerate. I don't expect it will take up very much of my time.

Well, the various trailers all look exciting, and YouTube has a 57 minute video which Marc Zicree introduces as the "first pilot" (still not entirely finished, he says . . . naturally Rolling Eyes).

IMDB lists this project as a series (which Marc also mentions), but neither IMDB nor Marc mention a completion date. But he's still selling "shares" in the projects (for $7,500).

Anyway, here the alleged pilot.
