This remarkable young man sent a small, radio controlled glider to an altitude of 20 miles (105,600 feet), and it was equipped with a tiny camera that sent back incredibly sharp pictures while he was flying it back down!

I'm so glad I was born just before the present became the future, and I've lived long enough to see the beginning of that future become the past! Very Happy

It's a notable achievement, but he didn't make it to space or even the "edge" of space. According to NASA and the U.S. military, space starts at an altitude of 50 miles (80 km). To the international community, including the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI), space starts a little higher, at 62 miles (100 km). So . . . not even close!
