Yesterday, in remembrance of the recently departed Roddy Piper, I had a mini marathon of the two of his scifi movies that I own — THEY LIVE! (1988) and HELL COMES TO FROGTOWN (1988).

The latter is an OK movie, but John Carpenter's THEY LIVE is one of my favorites — an interesting concept that is, in my opinion, pretty well executed. I suppose the never ending street fight scene is one thing that will always be remembered about this flick (kinda like the exploding head scene is the first thing to come to mind in SCANNERS). Also, Meg Fosters eyes are worth seeing.

If you haven't seen TL yet, get your sunglasses out and watch it. I saw $7 DVDs at Walmart a week ago.

Frankly, I haven't known what to reply to this thread since it was first posted in 2015 because I knew nothing about the two movies . . . nor who Roddy Piper is! Sad

Forgive me, alltare. My ignorance in certain areas is obviously quite extensive . . . Rolling Eyes

But since this thread has gone for six years without a single reply, the least I can do it add the trailers for the two films and hope that All Sci-Fi's more knowledgeable members will offer a few comments. Very Happy

By the way, after watching the two trailers above, I'm eager to see both movies! Cool

Thankfully, the second one is currently available on Youtube, and here it is! Cool

After watching a little of it, this looks like the most fun a guy can have with his clothes on! Twisted Evil

Frankly, I might just take my clothes off and watch it!
Shocked

The best and most memorable line in "They Live" (the bubblegum line) was an ad-lib by Roddy Piper.

Better than you would expect! Roddy was a decent actor and played a distinctive character!

At the very least worth a watch!
