Extra:

Paramount Releases Over 100 Free Movies on YouTube!

Quote:
Cinephiles rejoice! Paramount Pictures recently released over 100 films on a free Youtube channel called the "Paramount Vault".

The film studio dates all the way back to 1912 and is responsible for classics like Psycho (1960), The Godfather (1972), Clueless (1995) and the first film to win Best Picture at the Academy Awards, Wings (1927). Unfortunately, you won't find any of those films on the Vault (though Paramount does provide clips). Most of the archive consists of lesser known films, which makes it more suited for discovering new favorites than re-watching old classics.

The Vault includes works from a range of eras and genres: you can check out Noah Baumbach's low key 2007 comedy-drama Margot at the Wedding, see John Cusack get captured by pirates in the goofy Hot Pursuit (1987), or watch Elvis Presley belt it out in 1958's King Creole.

The collection also includes plenty of movies of the "so-bad-they're-good" persuasion: check out the science fiction section for terrifying titles like I Married a Monster From Outer Space (1958) and The Deadly Bees (1967) [list of sci fi titles @ https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLd0LhgZxFkVJFsvRos55jeIKHKBmfN2uA ]

Whether you're looking to watch clips from your favorite films, or stumble upon something new, the Vault is an amazing resource. Check it out here.

Unfortunately there are only eight titles listed under "Science Fiction" at the link to the Paramount Vault page on YouTube. They are as follows:

Masters of the Universe

I Married a Monster from Outer Space

The Space Children

The Colossus of New York

The Conquest of Space

Crack in the World

The Deadly Bees

— and this one, which is 1987 romantic comedy!

Hot Pursuit

Hey, I Married a Monster from Outer Space is a good sci-film! (In spite of its lurid title.)

And two of the eight pictures on that list -- The Deadly Bees and Crack in the World -- aren't Paramount productions. They're British pictures that were released by Paramount in the U.S.

The Space Children and The Colossus of New York are two of my all-time favorite science fiction movies! They certainly aren't films that are "so bad they're good", like the write-up says.

The Paramount movies may not be available to viewers outside the USA, but YouTube's habit of suggesting similar stuff quickly leads one to friendlier pages...
