I'm not acquainted with Leinster's explanation, but I would guess it had something to do with density decreasing in proportion to their size.

A clever show with an outstand credits for season two! The giant spiders which terrify us throughout are only really in the first season! Episodes being the first one, Weird World and Deadly Lodestone! The tarantula in the last one we get a very deep close up of as it descends upon poor Dan who is trapped in quicksand! Yuck! Strange it sounds like a Tie fighter as it gets knocked off it's lowering thread before it devours Dan Erickson!

Almost right. I looked up in his novelization. They were supposed to be in another dimension (a quasi-parallel universe) in which the laws of physics were very strange [at least to us].

Well I guess that's one way out.

That sort of makes sense actually! When they passed through that shimmering emerald disturbance it changed their bodies and spaceship to conform to the laws of that universe/dimension and it just happened to be a world of giant people! What would have happened to the giants had they been able to cross over into our reality is another question though? Would they have still been giants or our size? If so then they'd be no real threat to the earth as their technology was fifty years behind ours and their world wasn't as densely inhabited like ours and they couldn't decide on whether their names were eastern Slavic or Irish or even the same as ours!!! When Steve and Fitzhugh went back to earth in one episode they found themselves in the wrong time (naturally) but back to normal size! Fielder and Olds who came from the earth year 5477AD were also transformed into little people when they tried to annihilate the giants and use their world as a base for their attempt to destroy the future of the earth and redesign it in their own style of dictatorship!

It makes sense to me also. The series is currently Memorable Entertainment Television — ME T at 4:00 AM PDT. I'll have to record then watch them to catch-up!

I've read the schedule for ME TV and I think it's pretty weird to put these cracking little shows on so late! I expect the big stations to do that because they are so above 'this type of programming' these days and have been for years! Here in the UK in 1989 Anglia TV was showing UFO at 200am on a Wednesday night/Thursday morning and it doesn't take a genius to see the condescending attitude to classic sci-fi shows by playing them at that time!

Many of these "classic" programs are broadcast at these hours to fill time for the station. A side benefit is that it's perfect for the DDR ! I program downloads of many of these late-nite gems like LAND OF THE GIANTS from Me-tv and MAN IN SPACE on Comet-tv.

Get a Roku stick and you can watch Comet TV for free.

I had one for a while because Bulldogtrekker said he liked his, but there was so little I was interested in on Comet and the other things it gave me access to which (and didn't already have other ways to watch) that I sent it back.

ComeTV is only available in my area by broadcast signals. You MUST be in the line of sight for it to work. Sadly we are way beyond the horizon (by about 80 miles) and we do not have the proper antenna for it. ComeTV (the way that is designated here) is broadcast by a special antenna. It is "sub-broadcasted" (i.e. by a subscription) by our ABC affiliate KOMO TV 4.

CometTV also streams, and that's how the Roku stick gets all its programs. Your modem sends it to your Roku stick, which is plugged into your TV. That's the only way I can get it here in Charlotte. But I did watch it for a while before sending the Roku stick back.

According to the results of a Google search I would:

1) Purchase the unit for $40.00 or higher;

2) Purchase the usage fee from your local station (ABC KOMO TV 4 wants about $100.00 per month);

3) select the computer provider service that is available in your browser's area (from free to $25.00 per month,in my case):

4) And finely, either watch kive or record the damn thing!

It seems to be a LOT of time, effort and money for programs that I may not even want to watch along with a few I may. (I can watch every type of movie and TV series on DirecTV either when it is shown or by ordering it from over 150,000 available titles!)
