_____

Couch Potatoes, heed this warning: TV can kill!

Ironically the victim in this obscure murder mystery is the inventor of the first television. The prime suspect is his assistant, Bela Lugosi. Lugosi plays two roles twin brothers — but the rest of the cast is composed of relative unknowns, and the plot is too uneventful to generate much enthusiasm. Directed by Clifford Sandford.

The YouTube version shown below has a picture quality I'd call "watchable", which isn't a compliment, just a kindness. (After all, "crappy" sounds so crude, don't you think? Confused)

There's a few parts where the film jumps forward, but the video's running time is 54:03, and IMDB lists the movie at 53 minutes, so there can't be too much film missing.

IMDB only has one trivia item listed, but it's a good on!

~ For the scenes showing television equipment, the filmmakers borrowed it from L.A. area researchers who were working on experimental TV. The equipment they borrowed was worth $75,000 — over twice the $35,000 production budget for the film.

Note from me: $75,000 would be $1,383,810 today! And I'll bet it wasn't even a color TV! Wink
