A Wrinkle In Time revolves around a young girl whose father, a government scientist, has gone missing after working on a mysterious project called a tesseract, which involves being transported to a fifth dimension with mysterious inhabited planets.

I read the book when I was in school and it's been adapted before. It's one of those stories that can probably only be effective in print, though. I don't think modern CGI effects are going to make it work any better in a visual medium.

This is funny. Wikipedia and IMDB only mention a TV movie version done in 2003. I'm almost certain I saw a film version much earlier, though-- like in the '70s or '80s. I think a lot of things get completely lost in age of Internet.

The Time Quintet consists of A Wrinkle in Time, A Wind in the Door, A Swiftly Tilting Planet, Many Waters, and An Acceptable Time.

Will Disney make all 4? I doubt it. Look at their treatment of John Carter. It earned $73,078,100.00 in North America and $211,061,000.00 in other countries, for a worldwide total as of June 28, 2012 of $284,139,100.00. In today's LaLaLand economics it failed.

As to a 3rd movie, there was one that was syndicated from about 1989 or 1990 by RHI Entertainment.
