Here's what I found out about this project.

The Dark Tower is an upcoming 2017 American fantasy, science fiction, western, and horror film directed and co-written by Nikolaj Arcel, based on the series of novels of the same name by Stephen King. The film stars Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey and is set to be released on February 17, 2017.

I wonder why they didn't throw in "comedy, musical" while they were at it? Shocked

Sounds like a typical Stephen King adaptation. I've never read a King book, but the movie adaptations of his writing that I've seen count the worthwhile in the minority. They seem to me largely a Mulligan stew of "creepy" elements, thrown together haphazardly with little justification for them appearing in the same story.

Yes, I'm sure Mr. King hangs his head in shame all the way to the bank. I'll bet the bank tellers don't even know what he looks like, since he never looks them in eye.
