The trailer for this blockbuster certainly pumps plenty of excitement into it's promo. I've got the DVD from Netflix, and I'll watch it today.
Meanwhile, here's the trailer, just to get the thread started.

Seriously underwhelming. Need to watch again before writing a review, but yes, rather dull and rushed. _________________ The quality of mercy is not strnen. |

I enjoyed it, but it didn't exactly thrill me like some of the better Marvel movies. Oddly enough, I liked Shazam! much better because it was a clever blend of wacky comedy and serious action. That's tough to do, but Shazam! made it work. _________________ ____________

I liked Wonder Woman better than Captain Marvel. Captain Marvel isn’t bad, but it isn’t great. The story was too shallow for me. There’s nothing to relate it to in real life. Wonder Woman had a great background story about perpetual war and war profiteering. |

I watched Captain Marvel again recently and enjoyed it a bit more than the first time — perhaps because I had a better understanding of the complex plot.
The film deliberately presents the story non-chronologically, making us wait quite while to find out how Carol Danvers became Captain Marvel.
Brie Larson is wonderful in the role. She has a very calm, calculated manner, making her totally believable as fighter pilot.
The flip-flop of the good guys and the bad guys is a real revelation when we finally find out the truth about who's who!
I was touched by the brief Stan Lee cameo on the train. Carla Danvers just looks down at him for a moment and smiles. Nice touch. Lee, of course, passed away before the movie was released. _________________ ____________
