Just to demonstrate how strange religion is, consider this.

If an archeologist excavated an actual turd which he could prove came out of Jesus Christ . . . he could sell it on eBay for a million dollars.

Weird, eh?
Shocked

Well, there would be no way to determine provenance.

There is no DNA to compare it to. There is no way to prove it is what is claimed.

But----Consider this.
Since Jesus is written as eating and drinking----He must have excreted as we all do.----Therefore the molecules contained in those excretions must have been dispersed in the ecosphere---Therefore everyone must have some of those molecules as part of their body.

Therefore we don't need an artifact to be part of the Holy. We are all a part of everyone who has come before us.

As we will be a part of all who come after us.

Kinda blows the mind, huh!('Very Happy')

Yes, indeed, Brother Green. Thou speakest the truth.

But the idea here is that if "scientific proof" could be offered that the archeological find was indeed a genuine sample from the holy backside of the Son of God — proof that was as legitimate as the "proof" that the theory of evolution was true — then all the world's collectors of rare and valuable items would be willing to pay a king's ransom for this alleged "holly hockey puck".

Just to put things into perspective, I owned this comic book once.

It now it sells for $1.1 million.

People are kinda crazy, ain't they? Shocked

You must have faith, my son.

(This whole thread seems rather Monty Pythonesque.)

And I too owned THREE copies of that hallowed comic book! I paid the awesome price of 5 cents apiece for them at a second hand bookstore! Unfortunatly I sold them long ago. Stupid me!

I think it has always been true that men are compulsive in their desire to own esoterica. There are collectors who pay billions for works of art or pieces of antiquity only to hide them away like Uncle Scrooge in his money bin. Heck, I own an original HAUNT OF FEAR cover by Graham Ingles that is framed in my office and only really seen by me! Hee hee hee! (Wringing my hands in glee!)

IF it were possible to quarantee provenance is like asking "Could God make a world so big and massive that even He could not move it?"

Somewhat of a moot point, no?
