________________________________

Now that the election is over and I can't be accused of promoting one candidate over another, I feel the need to express my profound disappointment in the collective intelligence of the American people for voting for a completely unqualified political neophyte who acts less mature than the 4th graders I used to teach. Rolling Eyes

This is the guy these people have chosen to be President of the United States, the most powerful man in the world. They say they like him because they don't trust politicians, and he isn't one . . . so they trust him.

His misguided supporters wanted a non-politician to become the most powerful politician in the world. They think his years of business experience (including his periods of bankruptcy) means he'll be a great political leader — even though they don't trust politicians.

They aren't saying they want an honest politician. They want a non-politician. But he will, of course, have to become a politician to serve as president.

I'm sensing some serious stupidity here. Confused

He claims he's the champion of the working man . . . a guy who is infamous for not paying federal income tax, not mention the salaries of the workers he hires to construct his buildings (the ones he actually owns, not ones he just charges a fee to have his name stuck on.)

For the record, this one is actually his. (Then again, maybe it's not. We don't really know. He hides all his financial info. But he just hates it when "politicians" do that.)

His campaign was based largely on insults, false accusations, vague promises, and silly hand gestures. He's a miserable excuse as a communicator. All you get are long, poorly-worded rants about who he dislikes and why he dislikes them.

This guy couldn't give an inspiring speech if you stuck a firecracker up his ass, lit it, and said, "Say something smart, or your anus is beef stew!"

The comments below were posted by me on Facebook this morning . . . which means they'll be gone in a few days, but I can at least display them here on the message board I've struggled to keep alive for ten damn years (reinventing it three separate times), with just a handful of active members.

Since Randy had his stroke, nobody is currently maintaining the software or the server which Randy owns, so the whole board might vanish any day now.

That said . . . what the hell, I'll post my anti-Trump comments here before the board is gone.

I posted this first one on Facebook earlier this morning, November 8th.

Half of America and all of Russia is happy about the election. Meanwhile, the other half has sense enough to know that a guy named Adolf used all the same tactics to win his election, too. From now on it will be easy to quickly gauge the intelligence of someone you just met. Simply ask him who he voted for in 2016.

I posted this around 12:00 pm, November 8th.

History repeats itself. The first section below is a comment on Donald Trump. The second section is the original text I copied and modified . . . just a little.
____________________________________________

Donald Trump promised to overturn trade agreements and bring back jobs to give America back her pride.

He also promised to re-arm America. By recruiting a large army and building up the navy and air force, Trump claims he can reduce unemployment. This promise made him popular both with some sections of the unemployed and the military.

Trump's promise of strong government and stability was widely supported, particularly by industrialists. After the recession, many big businessmen made huge donations to the Republican Party.
____________________________________________

The original text goes like this . . . .
____________________________________________

Hitler promised to overturn the Treaty of Versailles and stop reparations and to give Germany back her pride.

He also promised to re-arm Germany, contrary to the Treaty. By recruiting a large army and building a whole new navy and air force, Hitler would be able to reduce unemployment. This promise made him popular both with some sections of the unemployed and the military.

Hitler's promise of strong government and stability was widely supported particularly by industrialists, who were terrified of the left wing unions and communism. Particularly after the Wall Street Crash, many big businessmen made huge donations to the Nazi Party.

I posted this one shortly after the one above.

Let's be sure we all understand what President Trump expects of all Americans.

If you're a Muslim, you'll be kept out.

It you're an immigrant from Mexico, you'll be sent back.

If you're a Mexican coming to America, you're here to sell drugs and rape women.

If you're a women, you'll find Donald Trump irresistible.

If you're an attractive women, you'll be grabbed by the crotch.

If you're a woman who was molested by Trump, he has proof that you're lying.

If you're a military leader, you'll be called a looser.

If you're a soldier captured during combat, you'll be called a coward.

If you're an experienced politician, you'll be branded a crook.

If you pay federal taxes, you'll be considered a sucker.

If you're a millionaire, your taxes will go down.

If you have a preexisting medical condition, your health insurance will be denied.

If you believe in global warming, you've been duped by a Chinese hoax.

If you're the leader of any foreign country, Donald thinks you should have your own nukes.

* (I'm sure I missed a few items. Anyone care to add to the list?)

I posted this one later in the afternoon, November 8th.

I'd just like to offer a heartfelt word of thanks to our new president, Donald Trump. We owe him a debt of gratitude for clarifying certain misconceptions which have clouded our judgment for years. I hope that all the courageous American's who voted for him will "like" this post to show your support for the ideals he has championed. *

For example:

A man who aspires to the highest office in the land should be true to his basic nature, no matter what. It is wrong to expect a man to express qualities he does not truly believe in, like false modesty and phony diplomacy.

Our country's long tradition of male leaderships should be respected, and we were mistaken to think that a woman could be president. The time is not yet right.

Young women should not get their hopes up, because their submissive position in our society is an old and time-honored tradition.

Our mothers, wives, and daughters need know that men are permitted do anything they please, regardless of how this affects others.

The American people aren't fooled by a candidate who thinks that experience and intelligence are the qualities our leader needs, especially when what we really want is an arrogant neophyte with an inflated opinion of his own abilities who will thumb his nose at our nation's most cherished traditions.

When a candidate is campaigning for office, he'll win by a landslide if he spends all his time insulting his opponent while making vague and outlandish promises and waving his hands around like a gay choir director to distract witless supporters from realizing he isn't saying anything intelligent.

* (How long did it take you catch on that I was pulling your leg? If you didn't catch on right away, I know who you voted for . . . you poor sap.)

In school we had a mock vote.

No one voted Green Party — or any other party.

Of the 2500+ kids who voted

89 abstained

207 Trump

881 Clinton

1323 Bernie Sanders!

Bud,

Amen to what you said.

All I can add at this time, to his psychophants, is: you wanted him, now you've got him - and you can keep him.

Just don't start whining to me when you suddenly find your loans are called in, your job is dropped in the name of austerity, your doctor can't see you for two weeks about that stabbing pain, and/or you get the honor of being one of the first to receive a draft notice since the early 70s. I will offer you no comfort.

I think Hillary Clinton was defeated not because she was a woman but because she was Hillary Clinton.

I have not been able to post any of my political theories because all of the forums that I'm on are polite hobby boards.

Hillary Clinton lost because of structural racism inside the Democratic party. It's a racism that they still can't and won't recognize.

Ten years ago, the Democrats developed a strategy do do a complete end-run around their political weakness. Recognizing a weakness among white voters and especially working class white men, the Democrats started to assemble a coalition that could win without a plurality of white voters. It worked brilliantly...for awhile.

When Bernie Sanders was running, I knew he could never be the nominee. The Democrats were building a boutique party designed to appeal to a collection of disparate groups who imagined themselves to be disenfranchised. Even Hillary Clinton's belated concession speech spoke to women, LGBTTQGSAs, and the disabled but she never spoke to the working class middle-class whites that had previously been the bread and butter of BOTH parties. The Democrats weren't going to nominate a white man for the Presidency.

Today, on MSNBC, Chris Matthews asked a Democratic luminary who he would seek out to help rebuild the Democratic party. The first three people mentioned were two women and a Black political commentator.

The chickens have come home to roost. The Democrats purposely marginalised white voters. Like any marginalised group, white voters went where they were wanted. Last night, the BBC was showing the racial break down of the vote. Hillary got about 88% of the Black vote. And that was OK with the reporter. She got about 69% of the Hispanic vote. That was OK with the reporter. But Trump had about a 20% advantage among White voters. The reporter saw that as proof that Trump was appealing to racists.

The American political system has a race problem. But it's a problem with the Democrats, not the Republicans. And the Democrats are completely oblivious to their problem. The media is completely oblivious to racism and sexism within the Democratic party.

Democratic Party race baiting worked for the last two presidential elections. They made a deal with the devil and it worked. And like anybody who makes a deal with the devil, they convinced themselves that they are on the side of the angels. The Democrats might get this figured out by the end of President Trump's second term.

Rachel Maddow's crocodile tears do not move me to sorrow. They move me to satisfaction; even laughter. Racist and sexist Democratic Party policies delivered millions of marginalized voters to the Republicans.

Sorry Hillary but payback is a bitch.

An asterisk (*) before a footnote commonly relates the note to a referent text preceding it, also denoted by an asterisk. I don't find such a matching asterisk in the body of text.

I might as well post a comment I made to Bud on Facebook too, and hope that this board outlasts your new President...

I gather that many US citizens are thinking of emulating Nellie the Elephant, by packing their trunks and saying goodbye to the circus. Moving to Canada seems suddenly rather popular - New Zealand and Ireland seem viable options, too.

One of the joys of the U.S. election cycle is the regular arrival of liberal drama queens vowing to move to Canada (which they never do, BTW) if their side loses.

It is a peculiarly left-wing trait.

Every four years, rich liberals promise to abandon The United States if they don't get their way. Oddly, they seem to think this some how makes them look patriotic. It really makes them look a little goofy and a LOT hypocritical. It's another example of people being oblivious to the obvious...these people make fools of themselves every four years and they don't see it.

It would be of great benefit if the quitters actually DID leave the United States. Having a bunch of cry-babies and poor sports in your society is not an asset.

Good citizens know that they always have another chance to vote and affect peaceful change. In the meantime they accept the democratic results and work to make thngs better.

I've been voting for 40 years and my side has lost 60% of the time. I'm not going to leave. I'm Canadian. I think our Prime Minister is an incompetent, embarrassing dip wad. So what? I voted. My side lost. I accept my loss (again) and will peacefully go about my life for the next 4 years at which point I will vote again.

I have no intention of going anywhere nor do I have any intent on taking to the street and using my loss as an excuse to pick up a new TV set or break windows.

If Trump were merely an incompetent, embarrassing dip wad, I would be much more comfortable with it.

Here's a few things Donald promised to do, as stated in The Washington Post article 76 of Donald Trump's many campaign promises (along with a few items I suspect he'll add to the list). Wink

Repeal and replace the asterisks rule so that all Americans can use them whenever they want! Very Happy

Build a wall between America and Canada to keep out all those illegal beer-drinking, Blu-ray-hoarding moose hunters! And make China pay for it, because they've got too much of our money already!

Strengthen the military so that it's "so big and so strong and so great" that "nobody's going to mess with us." To do this, he'll draft absolutely everybody and then arm the entire nation. That'll scare the crap out of the whole world!

Be unpredictable. "No one is going to touch us, because I'm so unpredictable." Or maybe he won't be unpredictable. Then again, maybe he will. He'll "keep us in suspense" about that. Wink

"Bomb the sh*t out of ISIS." Screw the human shields and the hostages! You can't make an omelet without killing every chicken in the barnyard.

"Target and kill the relatives of terrorists." Oh, what the hell, kill all their friends and neighbors, too. Ah sh*t, let's just nuke the Middle East and be done with it!

"Get rid of gun-free zones at military bases and in schools." In fact, we should give teaching certificates to Marines, let them be the teachers, and tell them to shot the kids who don't behave!

Make a few minor changes in Air Force One so the world knows "there's a new sheriff in town".

"Stop spending money on space exploration until the United States can fix its potholes." Who cares about all that silly space stuff when we're hitting potholes and spilling our Starbucks coffee?

"Shut down parts of the Internet so that Islamic State terrorists cannot use it to recruit American children." Which parts? Hell, the parts the government doesn't use, of course! Mad

"Bring back waterboarding", which the Obama administration considers torture. That way he can use it on Hillary. And all those snitching bitches who told on him for me grabbing their privates. And anybody in the news media who says Trump has a "hay bale for a hair do".

"Force Nabisco to once again make Oreos in the United States." If they're being made in Mexico (as Donald stated), we won't be able get them anymore after we build the wall!
Shocked

I hope he tosses apostrophes into the fix as well. I'm damned tired of policing the whole mess.

Let me qualify that. And I hope this won't be taken the wrong way...

I'm much more comfortable with the idea of an incompetent, embarrassing dip wad running Canada than I am with one running the U.S. The stakes seem higher to me.

My reaction to the election results?

Ding Dong! The Witch is dead. Which old Witch? The Wicked Witch!
Ding Dong! The Wicked Witch is dead.
Wake up - sleepy head, rub your eyes, get out of bed.
Wake up, the Wicked Witch is dead. She's gone where the goblins go,
Below - below - below. Yo-ho, let's open up and sing and ring the bells out.
Ding Dong' the merry-oh, sing it high, sing it low.
Let them know The Wicked Witch is dead!

David.

True. The right-wingers just threaten to riot if they lose, which is more intimidating, since they're the ones who own the guns.
