Didn't they withhold one episode from the first season? I remember reading that they were going to hold it for the 2nd season.

Yes, the TVGuide article does mention that season one technically had 13 episodes, but one was "moved back" to season two, giving it a possible 14 episodes, compared to the 12 which aired in season 1.

Seth MacFarlane's Star Trek-inspired series, has cast a former member of the starship Enterprise in its upcoming season.

John Billingsley, who played Dr. Phlox in all four seasons of Star Trek: Enterprise, will appear in the second episode of The Orville Season 2.

In the episode, titled Home, Billingsley will play a character named Cambis, according to sources close to the production.

It is unknown whether there will be a nod to his role on Star Trek: Enterprise, but it is not the first time the actor has played a character with links to the sci-fi series.

In 2002 comedy The Other Guys, Billingsley played a scientist with a fascination with Star Trek and who dressed as a Vulcan at conventions.

The episode is due to air on Dec. 30 on FOX.

The cast of The Orville were at San Diego Comic-Con last week, where a teaser trailer for the second season was released. Click here to watch the trailer. https://www.imdb.com/videoplayer/vi4006066969

I'll watch the second season, but I don't have the enthusiasm that I had when it started.

The show lost me when they decided that LT. Jackass, the idiot that almost caused a disaster and came a hair's breath to getting himself lobotomized because he couldn't follow direct orders, or follow legal advice, is a super genius. Sure, right up ther with Wile E. Coyote!

Plus in a society, where your standing relies on your personal status, the Captain just stuffed the poor blob into the status dumpster, by passing him over for a deserved promotion for a jackass, that isn''t trained for the job! Talk about killing one of your crew's career.

The show has all the worst aspects of the NextGen show. They are pompous, self righteous, intolerant and hypocritical. But it looks nice, and as long as I can get episodes like the one, where the Doctor murders two people, I will still watch...Maybe.

I do want a better look at the new space suit and new rifle.

David.

They're keeping the space suit strictly secret. Will this do for the rifle?

It's different from the rifle that was shown briefly in the first season. It had no shoulder stock.

I still have to say that this series has been a lot of fun to watch! Far from perfect, but still a decent homage to STAR TREK and BABYLON 5 to be enjoyable!

For some reason, season one of The Orville came out on dvd in Britain this week, so we're two months ahead. What puzzles me is that neither the UK nor the USA seem to be offering a blu-ray version. If there was one, and there were some decent extras involved, I'd be beaming on board...
