When I first made the post above, I hadn't yet discovered the way to get the best possible jpegs of the magazine pages, so the images were pretty fuzzy.

But now I've embedded the links to the large-sized jpegs in ones displayed above, and the article is clear and easy to read.

The article itself is a wonderful "time capsule" of how fandom looked at Star Trek back when the first issue of Starlog came out, with optimistic hopes of a new series and even a big budget movie.

It's an interesting article, and now that I've improved the images, please give it look. Very Happy

I remember buying that very first issue of Starlog.

Became a fan of it & collected every issue. Loved Cinefantastique too.

Still have a number of both mags in my collection.

They were special because at that time there was almost nothing out there in periodicals that covered sci~fi movies & television.
