This movie comes highly recommended, despite the unfortunate fact the public didn't appreciate it. With a budget between $40–55 million, it only pulled in $43 million.

Here's what Wikipedia has to say about it.

I just finished watching the DVD of this movie from Netflix, and I definitely do NOT recommended it. It's a murky load of hogwash with a boatload of visual FX and thimble-full of actually solid concepts.

In short, it talks a lot without saying much, cinematically speaking. If you bother to watch it, don't expect to know what's going on, even if you read online synopses and articles with names like Annihilation Ending Explained | Den of Geek.

You've been warned . . . Rolling Eyes

I didn't think much of it either. It struck me as something slapped together by somebody who wanted to try out his new CGI software.

Right. And even the CGI wasn't overly impressive.
