https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Savage_Bees

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0075166/

It's listed as natural horror in wiki but also sci-fi in IMDB.

Quote:
The festive fun of the annual Mardi Gras celebration is brought to a halt when a swarm of African killer bees escape from a foreign freighter.

It was part of "Monday Night at the Movies" at NBC but released in theaters in the UK.

This is the clearest copy online, from Creature Features, and includes brief intros and interludes from the hosts:

I vaguely remember this movie. It was of great amusement in the New Orleans area that they had them drive into the Super Dome and freeze the bees with the air conditioning system. At the time the Dome was known for not having the best A.C. system. Laughing

I wanted to post the full movie and the trailer for this movie, but the videos for both are so bad they simply aren't worth enduring. Rolling Eyes

But I'm grateful to Ralfy for making sure All Sci-Fi includes a thread for this one, despite the fact that it's apparently pretty bad. Rolling Eyes

After all, the name of the board is not Some Sci-Fi, right?
Very Happy

I just realized I watched it in the theater when I saw the scene with the bees and the VW. All the while I thought that scene came from The Swarm featuring Michael Caine.

There was also a sequel, Terror Out of the Sky:
