This science-fiction comedy television movie also served as a pilot for a weekly series. Based upon the 1962 novel by John D. MacDonald. First aired on June 13, 1980.

Kirby Winter (Robert Hays: Airplane, Starman TV series)is an easy-going man who meets a free-spirited brunette named Bunny (Pam Dawber: My Sister Sam, Mork & Mindy). He inherits from his millionaire uncle a gold watch that has the power to stop time.

A sequel would be made titled The Girl, the Gold Watch and Dynamite with new leads.

The 1962 feature film Zotz! starring Tom Poston has a similar premise in that he comes into possession of an ancient supernatural coin that can slow down time.

The Twilight Zone episode "A kind of Stopwatch" October 18, 1963 had a man find that he could freeze time with a stopwatch.
