This is a copy of an official screenplay, but when you read it you'll find that a large percentage of the dialog is VERY different from the movie. Therefore, this is definitely NOTE the final draft, the actual "shooting script".
Extensive revisions were made before the actors went before the camera.
Sections of the manuscript have dates in the upper right corner that range from 8-26-1954 to 9-3-54 — which is a total of only nine days!
The first twenty-five pages are dated 8-26-1954 (although page 1 is dated 8-26-1953 — an obvious typo).
The dates on the pages change to 8-27-1954 on page 26, then they change to 8-31-1954 on page 33.
On page 48 the dates change to 9-1-54.
Finally the dates change to 9-3-54 on page 69, and remains the same for the rest of the script.
This new, clearer copy was found on Archive.org by All Sci-Fi member Maurice, for which we are eternally grateful.
